That's what I was thinking. A lot of fans of divisional opponents seem to have selective memory. Yes, they beat the Browns but by the chirping of some fans you'd think they were one sided blowouts. Browns were in every game in the division down to the wire except for one game with Baltimore. They were 0-6 in the division but could've just as easily been 5-1 if we had any semblance of an offense.Rotinaj;1239535 wrote:Only way they beat us twice is if we GIVE them one like last year. RotinajIt still pisses me off thinking about what happened at the end of that first game against cinci!!

I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you, br, but I do remember you making a comment to me this offseason and it was something to the effect of "Well, at least you know you can put up two automatic W's" and then a sad face emoticon implying the Steelers have two gimme games (Cleveland) on the schedule. Maybe you were just joking but it's not just some fans of division rivals who make those types of comments.
Personally, I think the Browns are getting better but I thought that a few years back and they went in the tank again. We'll see if it's for real this time or not. -

You might want to check the date on that post. I'm pretty confident it was made when the thoughts were that this team would be trudging forward with Colt McCoy as their leader. At that point, I had them at a 1-15 to 3-13 team. With the recent additions, and a QB that has the arm to keep teams honest, I have them at 7-9 with a 3-3 record in the division.killer_ewok;1239626 wrote:I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you, br, but I do remember you making a comment to me this offseason and it was something to the effect of "Well, at least you know you can put up two automatic W's" and then a sad face emoticon implying the Steelers have two gimme games (Cleveland) on the schedule. I don't recall what BR said, but it is simply idiotic for a bengals fan to pretend the browns game is a gimme game. The browns gift wrapped both games to the bengals in the 4th quarter, now all of a sudden these games will be 2 easy wins for the Bengals?
Shouldn't really be surprised though. The only knowledgable Bengals fan on this site is terry tate. -

Okay. Thanks for clarifying. If I remember correctly it was pre-draft so that makes more sense. -

I'm sure they'll find a new and creative way to give us another one this season too. That's been their pedigree since they came back -
Mikey McDWell to get this thread back on track... I wouldn't take Wallace over Nicks even if Wallace contract situation wasn't a mess. As for Maclin or Decker easily taking Wallace over them. You should go with Nicks.

This coming from a Bengals "fan." Priceless. -

New owner who comes from a place where winning is expected should help. The first thing you guys need to do is: fire Shurmur, Fire Childress, pick some WRs and send Holmgren home
After you do that, you guys will be headed in the right direction -

1)They got some WRs sure they could get better but lets wait and see how Little and Gordon do this year. Plus who are they going to get a washed up TO?
2)Shurmur I'd give him another year to see what he can do before firing him and as for Chilly why fire him hes a good OC just sucks as a head coach.
3)As for Holmgren maybe send him home if things don't work out.
But there really is no reason to make the changes you are suggesting until this up coming season is over. -

Obviously those changes (aside from Holmgren) can't or won't happen this year. But. The team is going to struggle because of the reasons I mentioned -

They are not going to struggle because of there receivers. They will struggle because of not being able to stop the run. Or the qb play. And how do you know there going to struggle because of Childress when this is his first year with the browns? But nice troll attempt -

I'm not saying that Shurmur is going to be the next Lombardi but you dont think it's a little early to be calling for his job?jordo212000;1239852 wrote:New owner who comes from a place where winning is expected should help. jordo212000Question about how I know Chilly sucks? Go talk to Vikings fans. Can't believe you guys already have forgotten about how bad he was
Shurmur was in way over his head last year. Maybe too early to tell, but I would put money down that he does not survive after this coming season
And the WR corps scare nobody. They keep refusing to take playmakers at the WR position in the draft. It is a QB and WR league and I'm not sure they have either -

Yet you claimed that the defensive secondary is not that important in the NFL. Nice contradiction fail.jordo212000;1240082 wrote: And the WR corps scare nobody. They keep refusing to take playmakers at the WR position in the draft. It is a QB and WR league and I'm not sure they have either -

But yet he was successful as a oc in Philly? And shurmer did look over his head but part of the problem with the offense was mccoys failure to throw the ball down the field. As for wr. They drafted little, benjamin, and gordon. In the last 2 years. And from the looks of it from many people around the nfl is that Gordon is the real deal and could be a top receiver in the league. So before you go spouting off stupid actually know what the fuck your talking about. If not then stfu -

You don't know what you're talking about. Chilly did nothing in Philly. Reid calls the plays??
