WIthout Votto...what ya think?

  • thavoice
IF he comes back in a month, july 17th, he will have missed the next 29 games. (30 if you include last night).

SO they are 0-1 right now.

    After the 30 games:
--What do you THINK their W/L will be?
--What would be your worst acceptable W/L?
--Will they still be in first place?

---I think they will go 12-18
---Worst acceptable W/L for me is 14-16
    ---YES>

I'm pretty sure they have a shitty schedule coming up. I think they go 16-14 and 15-15 is worst acceptable. If they expect to do anything in the playoffs we need certain players to step up huge while he's out to gain confidence.

Yeah..it does look crappy. I didnt go check it out to make a better guestimation.

Team can survive, short term, without their stud and lets hope the reds can. I dont expect the Pirates to stick around. The cards..can never count them out tho

It scares me, cause we have nobody now that can put pressure on the opposing pitcher on a nightly basis. We'll have some big offensive games, because we have streaky hitters, but I doubt we put together much consistency. Really need Rolen to step up, and Frazier to continue to play well! I guess if you need someone to step up, I'd rather rely on a vet like Rolen instead of a guy coming up from Louisville.

From someone who isn't a Reds fan...

I see the Reds doing much better than expected without Votto. They have the pitching and timely hitting. Of course, with Joey in the lineup they are very dangerous but I don't see them folding the tent just yet. Walt will make a minor move before the deadline and they will be OK.

The pitching has been there all season for the most part. Very solid. The hitting outside of votto, up till now, has been pretty bad. Looks like everyone is starting to pick up the slack.

These are two things I never thought I would see in the same paragraph. The Reds offense is 27th in the league with RISP w/ 2 outs, and 25th in the league with RISP. I really hope they're turning that around though. BP seems really focused, and Bruce has turned it around a bit. The Reds will go as those two go with Votto out.

BP really playing very well lately. Love seeing it. Hopefully the rest of the team follows suit.
