As for Ubaldo himself...his ERA ballooned and once again is above the pathetic Ubaldo line for the season.
    Pathetic indeed.

    21/3 IP
    7 H
    8 R
    8 ER
    4 BB
    2 SO
    64 NP
    5.09 ERA

Well. I blame this loss on the incompetant manager. Instead of removing Ubaldo when it became 4-2, he lets the game get away at 8-2. Why? Especially since Toronto has one of the worst bullpens in baseball
Acta drives me nuts too. As said earlier in the thread....if he's throwing 90-92 MPH, you know it's going to be a loooong day (or a short outing). He needs to be hitting 94 -95 with his fastball....and he needs to be throwing it. When he's in the lower range, the pitch runs too much, and he can't control it like he needs to.
I had a hunch this was going to happen, as his last outing, when he was pretty effective, he started throwing a lot of breaking stuff towards the later innings and they made a big deal of it. He has got to put that stuff away and establish his fastball early.

I thought they had this stuff straightened out...Apparently not.

as for Acta...he and Radinsky need to get off their butts. They don't come out of the dugout until things are blown up. Same thing happenned in Perez's blown save before the All Star break.

The 220 hitter bats fifth and the 300 hitter bats sixth? It should be 2 nothing already. SMH.

Manny you don't play to win.

I agree. First thing he's done right in over a month.

About to drop 2/3 to start the 2nd half. Nice.

I was just thinking the same thing. I don't have much confidence in a comeback.

Damn, we just can't seem to score runs--pretty much been the theme over the last six weeks :(
  • Crimson streak
    We suck

Been saying that since April even with the good start. This is a .500 team at best give or take a few games.

welcome to third place and 4 games back.

Season high 4 games out of first as well as being in 3rd for the first time.

This team desperately needs hitting help, now.

They got shut out one game, had one run in another, and in the third were doing next to nothing offensively until scoring a bunch of meaningless runs only once they were down 10-2.

We need a bat now, not 2 weeks from now on the 31st deadline when we have fallen another 2-3 games out of first and are then in the hunt for nothing (division or any wildcards).

What does it take to get through to Antonetti?

OK.....I have started the last 4 series threads with a record of 8-6.

I said that I would pass the baton to another poster for the next series thread.

If there are no takers, though, I will just keep going.

    Ain't no thang.

we've needed a bat since the off-season. instead of rectifying the problem, antonetti and shapiro decided to have a 12 million dollar bonfire in the center of the diamond

Derek Lowe 0-5 with a 7.97 era over his last six road starts...ouch!
