Reds @ Dodgers....Game 1
-
Ironman92Homer vs Billingsley
Easy series for the Reds. The Dodgers have scored 3 runs in the past 62 innings. -
Ironman92Lol
And now have scored 7 runs in the last 3 innings. -
Ironman92Kemp out....maybe Ethier still
And Dee Gordon (fastest guy in MLB) has 3 SB tonight and was just clocked home to first in 3.54 (Stubbs typically 3.75) and he pulled up lame the last 4 steps! Impressive and likely slowed down if not out against Reds. -
RotinajVotto still out? Reds lose 5-1.
-
Ironman92Rolen could hardly move yesterday....maybe DL again.
-
thavoiceYesterday's tough loss will set in motion a slide that will last past the All Star break.

You're bound to be right one of these times.thavoice;1216861 wrote:Yesterday's tough loss will set in motion a slide that will last past the All Star break. -

wildcats20West coast games bore to me tears.
-
Midstate01Best part of this series, is getting to listen to the dodgers broadcast!! Skully is the man
-
wildcats20And I was just about to post about how bad Meso has been. Comes through with a big time 2 run double.
-
Terry_TateDamn good grab by Bruce to end the 7th. Had to take the perfect line and fly to get that one and he did. Think there was some motivation from last night to get that one.
-
Midstate01After an RBI triple by Frazier, the reds get 2 straight k's before meso comes through again!!! 5-2!
-
RotinajFell asleep when it was 2-0. Woke up to see the Reds won. Good way to start the day!!
-
SportsAndLadyNice! Also crashed at 2-0
Well done Meso! -

Great catch and he wasn't letting that ball fall....but his first two step on camera were quite round-a-bout. -
thavoiceGot to see 1/2 inning in the game and that is when the reds took the lead. Nice bounce back after that debacle in SF.
-
Ironman92Stubbs 0-18 on the road trip. His first 3 AB last night he struck out 3 times on 11 pitches.

Pretty impressive. Must have been two pitchouts.....Ironman92;1217747 wrote:Stubbs 0-18 on the road trip. His first 3 AB last night he struck out 3 times on 11 pitches. -

There were 3, but he swung at 1 -
thavoicePretty sure dayton paper stated that stubbs is 0 for his last 20!
-
Heretic
Yep. Four walks in that period, but 0-20 in official at bats over six games (the first of which he only had a pinch-hit appearance in).thavoice;1217888 wrote:Pretty sure dayton paper stated that stubbs is 0 for his last 20! -
wildcats20Drew Stubbs needs to sit or be shot. He isn't doing anything at all.
Move Heisey to center and let Luddy play left. -
RotinajLol 0-20. How is that even possible.
-
slcoach
You are kidding right? I just don't get the love affair people have with Heisey. He is a bench player for a reason. Stubbs can be frustrating, but there is just no doubt that he is a much better option than Heisey.wildcats20;1217938 wrote:Drew Stubbs needs to sit or be shot. He isn't doing anything at all.

Stubbs has 54 more plate appearances (258-204). In those 58 more appearances Stubbs has:
20 more runs
2 less hits
2 more XBH
6 more HRS
3 more RBI (Even though both are weak)
15 more walks (I didn't think it was possible to have less walks than Stubbs)
24 more K's (which people bitch about constantly with Stubbs...His K's per PA is 3.73 Heisey is not much better at 4.53...Projected over a full season is only 30 more K's)
13 more SB (Stubbs is 16-20 Heisey is 3-6)
Even though Heisey is hitting .38 points higher, his OBP is .03 higher than Stubbs. (Their OPS are identical and poor)
Stubbs also has a positive WAR while Heisey's is negative.
I think Heisey plays good defense, but Stubbs is a much better outfielder.
I guess I just take Stubbs as what he is. The Reds are not the Yankees that can afford a star at every position.
