Projected as a late lottery pick (10 overall -ish), Sullinger is now looking like he might fall down to the 2nd RD? -
Laley23Well that's no good. Now we will never know what he would've gone and the debate will Rae on forever!!!!!
Those from the CBB Forum know what I'm talking about. -

PrescottSullinger was a very good college player. I'm not sold on his NBA prospects because I think he is too slow for the NBA game and he lacks explosiveness. The medical red flag will scare some teams away.
-
Con_AlmaThere's some depth to both sides of this stry. I believe he has a buldging disc that he is being treated for. It will either be nothing long term or a reason for people to jum him in the draft. A team should have their wn dctor look at him and make their own determination.

thavoiceHard to tell if he will do well in the NBA. Guys his size need to be able to play with their face to the basket and shoot the outside jumper consistantly. In college he dominated inside on great passes, rebounds and such. He would go through a half looking like he didnt do much and then when you see his stat sheet he has 10 points and 6 boards. Just didnt seem to me, the untrained basketball fan, that he was a person who could score at will whenever he wanted. Just seemed like he relied on the putbacks and a pass of a drive.
But then again......the NBA game is so much different. They will run more iso plays, and give players the ball so they can create. I think he needs to expand his game out if he wants to be a good pro. -

Did you even watch us play at all the past 2 years?? He got the ball ALL THE TIME on the block. That's not from the pass of a drive. I have no idea where you got your statement from.thavoice;1204551 wrote:Just seemed like he relied on the putbacks and a pass of a drive. -

Sucks for Sully though, even if his back turns out to be a non issue this will cost him some money. -

Eh, not much money to be made on his rookie contract, much more to be made with his 2nd. I have my doubts about his NBA success, but I don't see this back thing as a big deal. I thought Blair's knees were a much bigger deal and he's been good for the Spurs in terms of knee issues.Automatik;1204569 wrote:lol...he didn't watch.

AutomatikI'm sure there is a decent gap between top 5-10 and 2nd round.
Like Con said, just have the team docs examine him during his workout with whoever is interested. -
Azubuike24Sullinger had the same red flags for his game since he came to college. He may not go that high in the draft, but with the slotting system the way it is, he's going to have to earn his contract either way. Anyone outside of the lottery makes under 1.5M a year, anyone outside of the top 23 makes under 1M. He might be better off going to a team where he can contribute and play early for his 2nd contract.
Dallas at 17, Orlando at 19, Denver at 20, Atlanta at 23, Miami at 27. All playoff teams who he might be better off joining than going to a tweener team like Milwaukee, Detroit or Cleveland. -

Well yeah lol. I saw him as a 8-14 pick, but I still don't see him slipping into the 2nd.Automatik;1204606 wrote:I'm sure there is a decent gap between top 5-10 and 2nd round. -
thavoiceyeah...i watched him play a few times each season and that was my opinion.
This could end up being a good thing for him career wise, assuming the injury doesnt slow him down. He very well could go to a better, more established team late in the first round and be able to grow into his role and end up having a nice career. -

This. I was never high on him being any more than serviceable at bestPrescott;1204447 wrote:Sullinger was a very good college player. I'm not sold on his NBA prospects because I think he is too slow for the NBA game and he lacks explosiveness. The medical red flag will scare some teams away. -

robj55I have heard that GS wants him at 7, and if not there then NO at 10 for sure.

ohiobucks1Maybe. And I don't know how this new news changes it. But Satch told us that GS told him they were going to take him if he's there.
-
Azubuike24If he goes 7th, it would be a huge mistake...
-
ohiobucks1I'm not saying whether it would be good or bad, I'm just saying what I'm told
-
sportchamppsSometimes teams leak info like this to scare other teams away from a guy they want to fall to them

I mean your statement wasn't an opinion, it was an observation, and it was wrong. If you watched OSU play at all, you'd know that what you said wasn't true. I'd say 70% of the time he got the ball, he was fed it on the block (70% is generous, it was probably more) and not as a result of a drive.thavoice;1204648 wrote:yeah...i watched him play a few times each season and that was my opinion. -
hoops23lol. How often did OSU drive the basket to begin with? OSU was a jumpshooting team and that's what ultimately led to their demise.
Sully got the ball on the block a majority of the time... It was hardly the result of a drive and dish. -
chicago510Hate it for Sully, but this might wind up working out well if he can overcome the injury bug. Expectations won't be nearly as high at 20-30 and the team that takes him will likely have a supporting cast. He was never going to be the #1 guy on a bad team.
