This weekend, on Speed tv, and online. This is a big time race. The best drivers in the world (and Brian Vickers) in 56 exotic cars from all over.[LEFT]

There are 55 cars in 4 classes: LMP1, LMP2, GTE Pro, GTE Am, plus the Nissan Delta Wing in the race.
150,000 fans showed up in the rain Friday for the drivers parade.

I'm pulling for a few cars with drivers from the Grand Am series, especially Le Mans rookie Jordan Taylor in the GTE Pro #73 Compuware Corvette.[LEFT]

The Delta wing isn't doing that bad, pace is solid, and technology is holding up for now.

The Audi's are leading the field, no surprise, but looks like the Toyota's are making it closer than many thought.

Delta wing was doing well, getting up into the LMP2 pack with much less hp. Then it took a hard knock. The bald guy interviewed is Marino Franchitti, Dario's brother.

Another Toyota did a huge flying flip after getting hit by a Ferrari.

Bummer for the Vettes at halfway last night. 74 broke a half shaft, 73 had to get major work done replacing brakes. They are finishing, 73 is 5th in class, 23rd overall.

Starworks 44 is leading LMP2, in 7th overall still a close one in that class. Go Enzo & Ryan!

    20 of 56 cars have retired early.[LEFT]

Peter Baron is one of the nicest guys anywhere. Radio Le Mans giving him props worldwide right now. USA!

I had no idea they still did this. Remember it as a kid but hadn't heard about it since.

This was the 80th year. 250,000 fans most of the time. Coverage exposure is better than ever with internet, twitter, facebook, etc. I've never followed it so closely until Jordan landed on Team Corvette. He just turned 21, and did a great job. The 44 car won its class, so Grand Am was repped on top of the podium and The Star Spangled Banner was played. All those guys will haul ass back to USA and race next weekend at Road America in Wisc.

Yeah, this is the first year in a while I watched most of it, between the U.S. Open and it.
I watched some of the highlights on Speed.com from the night hours here.

Sucks about the Delta Wing and Vetts.
The Audi hybrid is just sick. The Toyota's were solid, but couldn't make the distance.

Cool to see the Americans sprinkled in there in the different series, and the national anthem on the podium.

Also, heard about the 2014 rule changes, which will radically change the race. Something like 30% less fuel available, more focus on innovation as the body will be narrower. It's a cool series to follow as it is all about pushing the envelope with technology.

    Starworks view from the podium......Priceless!
