Reds vs Tigers....Game 1

Pretty nice play by Fielder but better execution.

Safety squeeze was the perfect call there, but Valdez says Dusty didn't make it - he did it on his own. Tigers should have known that might be the play and Fielder should have been playing in more. Safety was better than suicide because you are protected from pitch-outs, and and the runner gets to decide quickly iof he has a good chance to make it, and if not he can stay home and hope for Cozart to get a two out RBI. Cairo gets lots of credit for making the quick, correct decision, and executing the slide to be safe. Dusty gets no credit. I can't believe Marty on the radio was calling it a suicide squeeze!

Cairo did an awesome job late in his path towards home of moving away from the catcher. Made it so he couldn't be blocked. Awesome play

Welsh calling it a suicide squeeze also! I can't believe the ineptness of the commentators!

Good god I cannot believe Leyland put Ortega in to pitch in the 8th. Is he retarded?

Dusty says Valdez knows how to play baseball! I wish Dusty knew a little better how to play!

Dusty's logic for the next two games will probably be, using Frazier's back as a guise, saying they need him as a key pinch hitter off the bench, so he can continue to play Cairo at 3rd!

ESPN is not calling it a suicide squeeze.

Dusty will probably have Cairo at 3rd and Frazier pinch hitting until Rolen comes off the DL soon and continues to hurt the team due to his offense.

It was hard to tell because of how slow Cairo is, but it was definitely a safety squeeze. And Prince almost got him, which is saying something considering Prince appears to be a donut shy of 4 bills.

Anyone enjoy reading John Fay's "5 things about tonight's game" every day (that there's a game)?

    This was from tonight's:
Joey Votto extended his hitting streak to 14 games with a 3-for-5 night that included a three-run homer. The streak is a career-high. He’s 28-for-51 (.549) with eight doubles, three homers and 13 RBI during the streak.
.549 over 15 games lol unfuckingreal

Marlon Byrd was designated for assignment by Boston. I'd take a flyer on him in a second. Knows the division well.
