That's baseball. Team is sitting nicely at 17-13. Need outfielders to start hitting their weight.wes_mantooth;1166308 wrote:Whelp, they shit the bed and ruined the nice double header sweep.....sigh -
grodtNo shame in losing to Peavy, dude's been on fire this year. Also, it helps to remember that Gomez is our 5th starter and we've been lucky to have the number of quality starts we've had from him so far. Just hope he can bounce back in his next start.

Exactly....our pen is thin. Need to bring up a couple of stud rookies that were high number one round draft picks....oh...I forgot....my bad.BRF;1166245 wrote:FIFY!
Don't forget to add Ascencio to that list. -

You missed the point (surprise!). The point was,Footwedge;1166396 wrote:Duh..where did I say that I know this?
No more idiotic than what you said.duh...again. Idiotic statement.
You don't know what will happen.
Actually I can say that, if we miss the playoffs, it will not be due to one cause. That isn't that hard of a concept to grasp.
So if this is a message board for Tribe fans, why do you keep talking about Colorado Rockies? If nobody cares, then why do you and others keep responding? If you don't like my bitching about the trade...then don't read it. Or else...you move on. Actually, you need to let it go....not me. Don't like my comments? Then put me on ignore. This is a message board for tribe fans. Deal with it.
It's a long season. Given the injury problems that we've had, the deeper the staff is...the better. You act as if people can't be rotated from starter to reliever. Ot happens all the time.
So the guys that are supposed to lead us to the playoffs are now supposed to be able to be shuffled back to the bullpen? Starters only go to the bullpen when they struggle, and then it's as a long man. Another stupid statement.
I'm not stalking, I just don't like seeing stupid comments go unchallenged.Now...run away...don't like stalkers. -

Again...if you want to debate something, then don't post things that are not said nor even inferred. You and Hoops have a real problem with that.grodt;1166416 wrote:

SMH. Yeah..99% of my posts are baseball related or tribe related. You fail with such nonsense. So if this is a message board for Tribe fans, why do you keep talking about Colorado Rockies?

So go ahead and tell me...are you happy with Sipp? Wheeler? Or the other rookie clown? Our staff is thin right now. Our 2 best prospects are gone. If I was the GM, Doug Fister would be on the tribe...at a much cheaper price than Ubaldo the Terrible. And, we would have a couple of 23 year olds who we drafted in the early first round either waiting their turn or producing now...and more importantly...for years to come.So the guys that are supposed to lead us to the playoffs are now supposed to be able to be shuffled back to the bullpen? Starters only go to the bullpen when they struggle, and then it's as a long man. Another stupid statement.
There is absolutely nothing stupid about ripping that horrendous trade...90% of the media shake their heads at how bad Ubaldo is. Grodt...give it up...you stink at this.I'm not stalking, I just don't like seeing stupid comments go unchallenged. -

Who has labeled him the fifth starter? A starter is a starter. Only the media know nothings give a number to starters. I suppose Fausto was a "number 5" starter the year he had a lower ERA than CC Cy Young Sabathia.grodt;1166407 wrote:No shame in losing to Peavy, dude's been on fire this year. It'll be because we spent money on non productive players(Sizemore, Carmona/Hernandez and possibly Kotchman)...and failed to to obtain a right handed hitter to keep teams honest.Actually I can say that, if we miss the playoffs, it will not be due to one cause.
I really don't think that Pomeranz/ White would have contributed that much more THIS year than Ubaldo under any circumstances...and that the real value/loss of value will be more evident in year 3 and beyond. I was quite impressed with Jimenez's performance last Sunday, and if that is the light bulb that needed to go off in his head, we've got a pretty damn good pitcher for the next two years. If Ubaldo reverts back into what we've seen for most of his time with the Tribe, then the trade will be one of the worst of this administration.
I continue to watch the team in amazement....I think the front office totally screwed up the off season, the Ubaldo trade was iffy at best, they spent money on useless players, they didn't get a right handed stick. Acta's moves confound me....and we are still in first place.?????SMH ...GTFO...STFU??? -
hoops23Footwedge, who is the other rookie clown in the bullpen? Nick Hagadone?
SMH
And how bad is Ubaldo? He's 3-2 and just pitched 7 innings of 2 hit shutout ball against one of the best offenses in baseball, if not the best.
The staff has worked on improving his delivery and his velocity was back up with the changes.
Here's a recent tidbit from the Denver Post:
So White dealt with a hand injury and now Pom has been consistently getting injured. But the arms of White and Pomeranz are healthy. Both are former first-round picks and responsible for making the Jimenez trade make sense. Pomeranz has shown flashes of a top-shelf talent despite being interrupted by a strained hip, a forearm and now a bruised thigh. White hasn't shown he can be a big-league starter. -
Laley23So this will make everyone happy.
Apparently, last year at the deadline, the FO had screaming matches over Pence or Ubaldo. Ubaldo guys won out. Then again this summer it was even worse with re-signing Grady and getting a cheaper corner position or getting Cuddyer. Grady and the other won out again. Sigh...at least we have some competant people in the FO, they just arent powerful enough yet apparently.
