grodtCan't miss like that to guys like Beltre.
-
dazedconfusedgotta be honest, i think the only situation where i would walk moreland to face beltre would be if both of beltre's arms fell off in the on-deck circle

BRFBlah!
Oh well, I am still pretty pleased with the way things are going so far. -

HitsRusOn the way shortly to see Ubaldo pitch today....Sheldon Ocker of the Akron Beacon Journal said today that Jimenez is taking a faulty approach to getting hitters out and the low 90's (He meant high 80's, Ithink)fast balls were a matter of him electing not to throw faster and using too many different pitches. He felt Ubaldo needed a trip to the minors to get it through his head, as he appears to be resisting the suggestions.
Sorry, no time to get the link, but it's in today's ABJ.
Just some quick thoughts...
I'm disappointed that the Tribe didn't go all in to win yesterday. I felt it was a mistake letting Damon swing away( instead of sacrificing) when Choo opened the 9th (or was it the 10th) with a single. Damon popped out, then Hannahan hit into a DP, killing the inning. Lou Marson is a black hole in the order...why not let somebody hit for him late in the game. The guy struck out three time and hit into a DP. -
Glory DaysEither way, the game should have been over in the 9th. Santana just has to make contact. It was sad, we have santana and hafner up in the 8th with a runner on 3rd and cant get the ball past the 1st baseman.

Crimson streakGreat outing by ubaldo 7 innings 2 hits no runs.

BRFA series win against the Rangers?
Pretty impressive. -
HitsRusGreat game from Ubaldo today...and what I posted earlier (Sheldon Ocker's analysis) was spot on. Ubaldo was hitting mid 90's today...and when the velocity dropped to 90 is when he started to have problems. Looks like he can be very effective if he relies on his fast ball and he puts something on it....and uses his other pitches to keep hitters off balance. I think Ocker is right...Ubaldo needs to throw hard to be effective, and for some reason that is not physical, he is choosing not to. Hopefully the light bulb went on in his head.
but what a difference from when I saw him throw the other nite....fast ball topping out at 90. Today he was hitting 93, 94, even an occasional 95 -
wes_mantoothYeah, great outing by Ubaldo. I thought he was going to get burned when he walked three in a row, but he got out of that mess....then cruised.
-
Laley23Other than a few bouts of wildness, Ubaldo was awesome. Kipnis and Asdrubal with big hits as well.
Great series win. -
FootwedgeIndians took advantage of 3 big breaks and Ubaldo was uncharacteristically excellent today. Back end of the pen continues to shine.
Where are you Sin Shoo? -
hoops23Batters are only hitting .237 against Ubaldo on the year. If he can get his control and stay consistent with his delivery to keep his velocity up, he's going to have a great year.
-
OneBuckeyeSounds like he pitched better but still had 5 BB... here's hoping he can keep up the progress.

wes_mantooth
Not that it makes a difference, but 3 of those were in the same inning after there was two outs. He got out of that jam and then pitched much better.OneBuckeye;1164065 wrote:Sounds like he pitched better but still had 5 BB... here's hoping he can keep up the progress. -
