Reds @ Cubs game 3

    Classic Dusty right here:

    (On Drew Stubbs' recent success)
“No. 1, he’s being aggressive early in the count,” Baker said. “Everybody hollers about getting deep in the count. Everybody’s not a deep-in-the-count guy. The deeper he gets in the count the more prone he is to strike out.
Yeah it's not like the Cardinals just won a World Series doing the opposite of your philosophy there, Dusty..you fucking moron

Feels like a must win already...

Nobody in MLB should be afraid to get behind in the count. He's so stuck in his ways though, which is why they need TLR in here even though we all despise him.

Stubbs has always raked in Wrigley so his success here means nothing in the long term.

    Cozart 6
    Stubbs 8
    Votto 3
    Ludwick 7
    Bruce 9
    Rolen 5
    Harris 4
    Hanigan 2
    Cueto 1

    WILLIE!!!!

That's a solid 4 thru 7 right there, I doubt the Cubs pitchers even want to step on the mound.

Ludwick will go yard, Bruce will have 2 hits, Rolen and Willie 0 hits. I'll be right

I bet you're wrong. Scotty will have a hit today!
  • Rotinaj
I'm we don't score at least 5 today I'm gonna deuce on dustys porch.

Bruce's K with bases loaded and one out in the first inning took the wind out of the sails on the inning that had promise of taking a good working margin of a lead.
  • Terry_Tate
2 straight strikeouts with the bases loaded. You can't believe they're this bad unless you actually watch them.
  • SportsAndLady
Would normally be a 2 run shot by cozart there

These WGN announcers are giving me brain damage

Votto gets a beautiful RBI with Stubbs scoring from first on a hit and run stroked into the LCF gap to give the Reds the initial lead in the game.
  • mhs95_06
Cueto loses focus on the bunt and gets no one out, putting his 2 run lead in peril.

Cueto struggled a little from there with his location, but gets out of it with no runs. 26 pitches that inning to get him up to 56 thru 3.

Remember that team in early 2010 that would beat the shit out of pitchers throwing games like this?
  • mhs95_06
Knowing Stubbs' speed, the SS should have gone for the force out of Hanigan at 3rd on that grounder.
  • mhs95_06
Reds have scored two runs, but left 8 on base thru 4 innings, 7 of them in innings they haven't scored.
  • mhs95_06
Did Bruce miss the suicide squeeze bunt sign and delay his sprint for home ruining the play?
  • dave
Haha this is great. Hard to tell since Willie can't bunt well, but I bet Bruce missed it. He's not a good baserunner.
  • mhs95_06
I guess the Reds decided not to leave any base-runners on, and also not score in the 5th! After blowing all these chances in innings 1,2,4,5, I predict they won't get any more good chances to score and the two runs they have now will have to hold up for them to win the series!

I agree Bruce probably missed the sign, but base-running skill should not be related to missing signs.
  • mhs95_06
Cueto muffs another bunt, but I think the ump got it right on the out call.
  • mhs95_06
Cueto's non-pitching performance is what is going to cost him way more than his pitching this game!
  • SportsAndLady
    Shitttttt
  • mhs95_06
Cueto with non-pitching acts that were correct - good bunt and running in exactly the right line to 1B.
