Giants fans need a lesson in "loyalty"
-
sleeperAnyone catch the award show after the SB last night? They were talking about the woe is me Giants and how they were the most loyal fans in the NFL. I realize this is standard post game BS from executives who want to make the fans feel important, but the word "most loyal" really irked me.
The Giants won a super bowl 4 years ago, and they won another this year. Loyalty is nowhere near the word I would be using, if anything "top bandwagon fan base" would be more appropriate.
/end rant -
BR1986FBI think we ALL know who the "top bandwagon/frontrunner fan base" award goes to and it's not the Giants.

The Giants fans have supported their team, win or lose, longer than both of us have been alive.sleeper;1076959 wrote:Anyone catch the award show after the SB last night? It's very easy to be loyal when your team is winning Super Bowls and in contention year after year. I'd love to see how the "most loyal fans" last through 50+ seasons of shitty football.queencitybuckeye;1076968 wrote:The Giants fans have supported their team, win or lose, longer than both of us have been alive. -

Cowboys, Patriots Steelers are easily 1 2 and 3BR1986FB;1076967 wrote:I think we ALL know who the "top bandwagon/frontrunner fan base" award goes to and it's not the Giants. -

Think you might want to flip #3 to #1 and slide #1 down to #2.Hb31187;1076974 wrote:Cowboys, Patriots Steelers are easily 1 2 and 3 -
BearBoy69I'm a Steelers fan who is not a frontrunner, but i see a LOT of Steelers fans who are.
Also, I will give the Browns props on the most loyal fan base, if they ever win a SB it will be CRAAAAZY in Cleveland that's for sure. -
AutomatikI'd say the Giants have a pretty loyal and passionate fanbase, but I wouldn't call them the best.
I definitely prefer them over Jets fans. -
queencitybuckeyeWhy do people take hyperbole seriously, what the hell else is the owner of a team going to say about their fans?

Count me as someone who's tired of the PC comments we get from coaches, players and executives. It's boring. I want to see a player win the Super Bowl MVP and be like "I'm the best player in the league, I deserve this".queencitybuckeye;1076985 wrote:Why do people take hyperbole seriously, what the hell else is the owner of a team going to say about their fans?
They always say the same things over and over again "It's a team game, its not about me, I want to divide this trophy among my teammates. YAWN." -

Well, unless you consider that #3 gets blown up a bit in these parts due to sharing a border with the "most bitter/angry" fanbase.BR1986FB;1076976 wrote:Think you might want to flip #3 to #1 and slide #1 down to #2. -

Top 3 NFL bandwagons you mean. Nothing really tops Duke, Lakers, or Yankees.Hb31187;1077119 wrote:Wasnt meant to be in order, just the top 3 bandwagon franchises i know of -

MulvaGiants fans were booing Eli earlier this season and ready to run Coughlin out of town after last year. More NFL teams could use that kind of loyalty.

I listened to NY radio the entire summer and into fall; most calls were "we suck...we will be lucky to finish 2nd in the division behind the Eagles"
The only actual loyal person was their GM Jerry Reese...he would get on air and take calls from listeners and argue with them until he was screaming. He had some awesome tweets (that was actually criticized by the radio guys at the time) that were telling NYG fans to STFU because he's sick of seeing all these "we are going to suck" tweets.
I'll try to find his tweets, they were really awesome -
SportsAndLadyI couldn't find the actual tweets, but this is the best I could do:

SportsAndLadyREESE IS A JOKE....he has done nothing to compete in the NFL EAST!Extending TC contract is a waste of time & money!! No one likes him so why briing him back.
i guess all of the TC haters just hope they go 0-8, then will see if REESE has some balls!Hey, Jerry Reese. I'm calling you out. Sign a freakin' linebacker, you dunce.
Yeah, look at that loyalty!another classic projection by Jerry "the Scout" Reese that any other GM would not have tolerated past 3 years. Remember Jerry was all broken up about cutting guys like Alford and Kehl last year beacuse he can't admit his failures as a GM. This franchise is in trouble folks. 2007 was more of Accorsi's doing than Jerry's and people just dont get it.
LET THE COHWER WATCH BEGIN!!!!!!
And that's just comments from an article back in August about Reece telling a LB drafted in 09 to pick up his play -

That's not disloyalty if that is what you are implying. Browns fans are the most loyal, and we bitch all the time lol.SportsAndLady;1077268 wrote:Yeah, look at that loyalty!
