love the Drunk Open nights in College.

BUT: A. Rodick is a bitch on the court, but its entertaining because he is usually right and is one of few who has the balls to call out umpires and linespeople on their BS. I find it refreshing since the others do it in quite at the changeover. Andy just says it right then.

    B. He doesnt have skill. What he has done is, frankly, remarkable. He has a serve and a forehand. No return game, no net game, no backhand, no improve, no serve and volley and etc. He really ONLY has a serve and a big forehand.

We beat SJJ my Senior year. Lost in the Regionals to #1 Elida. SJJ was ranked 4th in Div 1 at the time and we were #2 in Div 2 at the time. I was just implying how good we were, despite losing. Got the shaft I say!!!

    a. to me he looks like a little girl crying. He hasn't won shit, and no american has won shit recently, so he has no room to be whining. He comes across as a little girl to me.

    b. He has skill, and that's what pisses me off. He hasn't worked on any of his weaknesses, only improved on what he was good at and I think that has killed him. If he had a coach that actually understood this, he would have definitely won a major or two in the past couple years.

    c. I don't know what's better, the drunk rugby late night or australian open tennis.

    - Harrison lost RD 1 (though it was a tough draw with Murray)
    - Fish down in straights
    - Young down a set, and 0-4 in the second.
    - Isner dropped the first, but took second 6-3

    - Querry and Roddick might be the last hope for any American even playing past the 2nd round. Sheesh. Roddick plays tomorrow, Querry gets underway at 3am tonight/this morning.

Roddick had the unfortunate timing of playing against the greatest tennis player of all time while they were both in their prime. He just was not as good as federer plain and simple. He really only let one major slip away, wimbeldon a few years ago against federer. If he makes that volley in the tie breaker he goes up 2-0 sets and I believe wins it. I trully felt bad that day when he lost

Roddick out vs hewitt. Retired with hip injury
  • Laley23
That sucked Roddick pulled his hammy on what appeared to be a routine play. Not on the dead run sprinting or anything. He wouldve won that match, imo, pretty handily.

Didn't see it. Read that he fell or something and hurt it then

He was recovering to the middle of the court, and Hewitt hit behind him. He literally just stopped, turned and could hit the ball. It was right there, but on the stop and turn, he pulled his hammy, and sort of fell because of it rolling the ankle a bit (that didnt matter) and from then on couldnt get to anything that required more than 3 steps, essentially. Somehow he was able to finish that set and the next, and be competitive.

Dolgopolov has worked hard to get to the third round.
    He came from 2 sets down to beat Aussie Greg Jones 4-6, 1-6, 6-1,6-1, 6-2, then edged Tobias Kamke 4-6, 6-1, 6-1, 3-6, 8-6.
    Next up for him: Tomic

He is not gonna be a fan favorite, if he knocks off another Aussie lol.

Dolgopolov likes playing distance matches. Couldn't pull this one out though losing to Tomic 6-4,6-7(0-7), 6-7(6-8), 6-2, 3-6
The young Aussie gets Fed next.

    The Djoker, Murray, Fed, Rafa.
Not one of them was seriously challenged by anyone on the way to the semis.

    Nobody saw this coming:rolleyes:

Men's tennis continues to be by far the most predictable major sport.
  • Hulk Smash
    Rafa dismisses Fed 6-7(5-7), 6-2,7-6(7-5), 6-4
Roger can't get past Rafa in best of five anymore.
  • gport_tennis
The joker will beat Andy in 4 and nadal in 3 or 4. Roger has the best chance of beating novak, but he just can't get past nadal. Chalk up another one for the Serb
  • Hulk Smash
Djoker went the distance with Murray before prevailing 7-5 in fifth. Murray continues to be just good enough to make the big three work hard but can't seem to win a big match against any of them at majors.
  • Laley23
Murray had his chance. Down 3-5 in the fifth and gets the break at love. Then holds. Then gets up in the 5-5 service game of The Joker. He had ALL the momentum and wa splaying great...then he remembered he isnt as good as the other 3 and lost the game. Then got broken to lose the match.
  • Hulk Smash
He had his chance after taking a 2-1 lead in sets but then he gets squashed in the fourth. When it got to the fifth I was confident that Novak would win even after Murray broke back.

Yeah, thats also true. Just meant that in "winning time" he had a chance. Something he usually hasnt had. So I guess thats a step in the right direction. I have a feeling Andy is going to be #2 to Novak a lot in the years to come, as I see Fed falling off some more and Nadal missing some tourneys with knee problems.

I like the Joker but I was hoping Andy would finally pull one off.
I think Joker takes down Rafa in 4.
  • dave
    I'm thinking rafa in 3 or 4.

tonights match should be a good one, might want to mute the sound though.
