NFC Divisional - (4) New York Giants at (1) Green Bay Packers

  • gorocks99
Should be a great rematch of one of the best games of the year where GB won on a last second FG. After the Giants beat up Atlanta today I fully expect most TV personalities to compare this to 2007 until we're all sick of it.

So, who do you like in this one? Gotta believe the Packers will look refreshed after their time off and I think they'll get it done by ~6 or so.

    Line: Packers -8.5
    O/U: 52

I think the Packers are going to spank them.

Either the Giants or the Packers will win and it will either be a blowout or a close game.

This won't be a blowout. The NYG are playing too well. They may not win, given that it's in Lambeau, against the defending champions and the co-MVP of the league. However, the Giants offense is pretty damn powerful, and their defense, at least the line, is capable of making this close. Their secondary is toast against Rodgers if he has time to throw. Best game of the Divisional round BY FAR. The AFC Title game (Baltimore vs New England) will be the best next week (unless it's New Orleans/Green Bay), but this is the best one next weekend.

And you can take that to the bank.

I'll say 41-27, just to throw a score out there.

Initially I was surprised to see how big the opening line is, but the Packers have been noticeably better in Lambeau this year than on the road. At home they're winning on average 40-21, on the road they're winning on average 30-24.

Closest home game was the finale against Detroit, but only one other home game was within one score (vs New Orleans). Obviously their only loss came on the road at KC, but four other games were within one score - @ Carolina, @ Minnesota, @ San Diego, @ NY Giants.

The Giants have stepped up their play the last couple weeks. Their DL will cause problems, and they've been able to run it. IMO, it's a less than 7 point game.

I cant imagine this game being a blow out.

I can imagine it being a blowout, but don't think it will be. The Giants have been nothing if not woefully inconsistent over the course of the entire season; when they're on they're great (close loss to GB, win over NE, dominating Dallas in week 17), when they're off they're ... bad (two losses to the Redskins, one to Seattle, all by double digits, losing to New Orleans by 25). They're playing a lot more "on" than "off" lately so I would expect it to be close.

I dont see any of those scenarios happening.Im going with a tie after 6 OTs and neither team has enough players left 2 play a 7th.

Well, since the Saints lost today, you can now call this the NFC Championship game. Winner of this game will go to the Super Bowl.

So what you took away from the 49ers beating the Saints yesterday is that they have no shot 2 beat the pack or giants? Makes sense....

No shit right? 49ers are playing great and proved they can contain an explosive offense. I think theres another great game heading our way
