Owned!

Here are a few comments from Cincinnati Bengals @ Cleveland Browns: Week 1 thread

Sportchampps
Bengals could go 9-7 if everything goes right
Now here are the responses i got
The Bengals will win 9 games this season? I'm not so sure about that...I'll give you maybe 5 or 6 at the most for this year...
Bengals winning 9 games is like saying the Panthers will win 9 games. Think about that artard.

LMAO at saying the Bengals can win 9 games this year. Is your name Jemele Hill by any chance, because last year she predicted the Bengals would be in the SB. They might beat the Browns, but there is absolutely no way in hell they win 9 games.

stupid thread is stupid.

It's a "Hey!, look at me, I was right for once in my life and I'm fucking excited!" thread.

I am a Browns fan but applaud the thread. I think no one ever has consequence for tearing down people's projections. When the prediction does happen, you have the right to gloat or bring it up.

I must admit at the beginning of the season I picked Cincinnati to go 4 - 12 or 5 - 11. I picked the Browns to go 7 - 9 or 8 - 8.
• jordo212000
I'm a Bengal fan and I didn't have them having a winning season. I do remember making fun of durkie when he was saying we would win 3 games
• dazedconfused
i definitely did not see the bengals winning 9 games...good on them. it's a shame what is going on with the attendance, though

I agree.

They have had an amazing season, compared to what I thought they would do.

After the beat the Browns week 1, in a game I thought they should have lost, I still wasnt sold. But they proved quickly they had a solid defense and a QB/WR combo that is going to be deadly.

No doubt. Now the waiting game becomes waiting for Mike Brown to screw up a very promising young team.

Bengals and Lions both possibly in the playoffs? Definitely has to be a sign of the apocalypse

Much better than I thought they would be, but...

8-0 against teams below .500.

1-6 against teams above .500 (the 1 win was 8-7 Tennessee).

Nice job of beating the teams they should beat, but they still aren't a good team themselves. Definitely a promising young team going forward.

Good breakdown.

How is Carson Palmer feeling right now?

still need to move the team...it's awful not having any game on tv in cinci because the fans are the worst in professional sports

Solid post. Shows they arent there yet, but on the way with the young core and Dalton/Green combo. They are beating teams they should and are maybe a year away from beating the teams they want to be on par with.

Close games mean nothing, but the Bengals absolutely blew the Denver and Houston games. They were right in it until the final minute against San Francisco, Pittsburgh round 1 and Baltimore round 1. They did get smoked by Pittsburgh round 2, but they have been competitive in pretty much every game against the playoff teams. Signs of a promising future.

He probaly feels pretty good being in Sunny California making bank and his team is going to be pretty good also when they get McFadden back and after he has a full off season to prepare. They also might be in the Playoffs this year also. Besides we have seen these "Promising Bengal teams" before and they haven't stuck.

If Mike Brown hadn't moved the team by now, what in the hell makes you think he'd suddenly decide to take the franchise elsewhere? Merry christmas dumbass!

lol I will man up and say I was definitely wrong obviously. I didn't expect the Bengals to win 9 games obviously, but props to Marvin Lewis. A lot of Bengals fans were trashing him, and I said he was a good coach. Not sure if he is SB type coach, but definitely comes in with good game plans. The Bengals were coming off a 4 win season, lost Carson Palmer, lost TO/Ocho, benson looked like shit the previous season, and the defense did not look too hot either. Of course people were going to scratch their heads to winning 9 games (maybe 10). They still have only beaten one winning team (maybe 0 if the titans lose next week), so it will be interesting to see if they can hold this up next year against a tougher schedule.

With that being said, the fans definitely do not deserve a winning season.

They probably also have one of the worst schedules in the league

Yeah, but they won....unlike the browns who played the same shit schedule.

Yeah true

I'll admit I thought the Browns would have a better record than Cincy this year.

exactly why i thought they could win 9 games. They way the nfl makes the scedueles each year allows a average team to win more games then they should. Benson didnt look like shit the year before the staff just didnt give him the ball enough. the bengals had the perfect storm this year with the nfc west and afc south. this team is building for the future and two first round picks this year should help.

I never said it was going to happen, they need to. also, go fuck yourself, "basegod" LOL

Saying the Bengals COULD go 9-7 if everything goes right is a lucky guess you made...you're making it a bigger deal than what you probably should. I'll admit they have had a better season than what I thought, but you have to admit that you didnt honestly see them being this good this season. You probably edited your previous post about their record to make it say 9-7 anyway.
