Post game face...
Really? We hurt Rapesomewomen in the second quarter....we come out in the 3rd, after making halftime adjustments. (I use the term loosely, we haven't scored a touchdown in the 3rd quarter since Clinton was in office) Then we put that pile of crap on the field!?!?!
Please Jesus, don't lay blame on the defense, if they didn't have to be out there for 45 minutes of every 60 minute game we wouldn't be in this spot. Though our lack of run defense is amazing, unless we are near a goal line, then we find some sort of booth and put on our "Super Chomps" clothes and turn into "Super Defense". Yea, our defense gave up one big play in the 4th quarter, but the Steelers wouldn't have had to SURPRISE US (I use that term very loosely) with a pass if we kick a field goal, and they know they need to run some clock.
Also, Hillis....no seriously...Hillis, he doesn't break the 30 yarder you want him to in the 17 plays that he is on the field, and his 10 touches and you give up on him? How about this....2nd and goal from the pubic hair line for a touchdown, Run a QUARTERBACK SNEAK....I know this may be a NEW PLAY to the west coast offense...but for GODS SAKE, give it a SHOT on second down. Not a slow developing 4 yard deep hand off when 10 of their 11 players are doing nothing more than trying to get penetration into the backfield.....
YOU ARE A FACTORY OF SADNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll see you next Sunday....... -
THE4RINGZThey played on the road tonight.
Hope this helps. -
wes_mantoothLol, yeah...they are terrible. The steelers were not good at all tonight....and they still lost by 11
-
Go4alOngbOmBThe Steelers did everything BUT hand them the game on a plate.......
ANY TEAM ...and I mean ANY...Indianapolis this season included, would have won that game........
Why is my street so dead tonight.....I need to play in some traffic. -
OQB
LULZ at these two trying to be professionals..... -
BR1986FBI'm telling you right now, this is an "evaluation" year, not a year to win. Nobody wants to see/hear that but this season is nothing more than "seeing what they've got." If they wanted to win more games, they would've pulled McCoy in favor of Wallace LONG ago.
-
hoops23I agree BR.
I actually liked the game plan last night against Pittsburgh. Defense brought it and there were some solid plays offensively, including a bunch that the players just didn't execute.
People who call for a coaching change are bat shit crazy. Not after one season in an apparent evaluation year. This isn't baseball where rebuilding can be a 5 year process. If Heckert and Holmgren make the right moves this offseason, this current regime could have a team ready to push the process towards winning ball games.
A few signings here and there and a good draft should have the Browns being a team that can compete week in and week out. We see it every year that a team who stunk the season before, emerges as a legit team the next season.
I think more than ever Heckert will go offense early and often in the draft. He is the guy that drafted LeSean McCoy, DeSean Jackson, and Jeremy Maclin. -
BR1986FB
Yeah, I'm not necessarily a fan of Shurmur's but I believe Holmgren/Heckert said something to the effect of "it's not about the record this year" which essentially says "we want to see what and who we've got."hoops23;1008652 wrote:I agree BR.

For as much as I rip on Holmgren for being a "paycheck stealer" he's got a reputation to uphold. He HAS to turn this around or his legacy throughout the league will be tarnished. I love what Tom Heckert has done, so far, but I think with Holmgren's rep/legacy on the line he (Holmgren) is going to "nudge" Heckert into being a bit more aggressive in free agency to accelerate this thing.
Offensively, they obviously need playmakers. Pretty well documented by now that I'm NOT a Colt McCoy fan. I don't get emotionally "tied" to these guys because they are "gamers." I want a strong armed, accurate QB who we don't have to worry about not being able to make plays. A couple of WR's (one FA..Colston, V-Jax, Bowe, not sure about Desean Jax and one draft pick) and maybe two O-Linemen and this offense will be in good shape assuming they bring in a legit QB. I'd be cool with a RB too.
Defensively it's ALL about the linebackers. Gocong looked good on that goal line stand but these linebackers lack speed and ferocity. WTF is this "gentleman's handshake" bullshit? I want to see a few psycho batshit crazy LB's back there. Get two OLB's, resign DQ, get a RDE another corner and a safety so TJ Ward can play his TRUE position and make an impact defending the run.
They aren't that far off from being in the mix but people don't see that. Fuck, they are the youngest team in the league and Heckert has purged the roster. Gonna take just a wee bit longer but Heckert IS going to have to overpay/entice some worthy free agents. -

It would be interesting to know how many Steelers fans on this site are actually from PA let alone Pittsburgh. I am willing to bet 1 at the most.BR1986FB;1008671 wrote:No shit. These people = the worst. My roommate in college was a Steeler fan, but was from that shithole in Western PA. The kid across the hall was a Tribe, OSU, Cav, Steeler fan. He was from Orrville. I now don't like anyone from Orrville, including Smuckers Jelly.BR1986FB;1008698 wrote:I'd also like to know how many are also Ohio State, Cleveland Indians & Cavs fans. Yup, I am aware. It is pretty comical reading his posts. You can tell he hardly watches any Steelers games. He really has no clue what he is talking. He is just a generic "fan," who posts generic football comments. I wouldn't be surprised if that was the first full game he watched this year.DeyDurkie5;1008702 wrote:automatik is from ohio. -

I see it every day. And then, the person in question bitches when the Cleveland teams he "roots" for don't win by saying "and THIS is why I root for the Steelers because the Cleveland teams I root for don't win." (yet they are STILL better than the Pirates) These "people" lack loyalty & morality, IMO.Wooball;1008708 wrote:These people = the worst. There is a guy in my office. He is from Kentucky. Cards/Yankees fan, Steelers fan, OSU football fan. GTFO.
He tried talking to me about sports, and I just straight up told him I don't respect his fanhood and I refuse to talk sports with him. -

Steeler fans are bandwagon fans in general. I remember my first 2 years of college thinking these guys didn't even know there was football played on Saturday's. Then our junior year Penn State rose from the ashes in 2005 and all of a sudden they were the biggest group of child molester supporters I have ever seen. They all love the Pens, but avoid the Buccos like the plague.BR1986FB;1008713 wrote:I see it every day. BR1986FBIt's mostly the younger fans that are bandwagon jumpers (20's & 30's). The Browns are partially to blame for putting a crappy product on the field but it's no excuse to have no guts & take the easy way out because "I only root for winners."
I have no issue with Cleveland Steeler "fans" if they are transplants who are "pro" Pittsburgh or have some kind of family tie to the Pittsburgh area. It's just the ones who have no life and root only for winners so they have something to "feel good about" in their life so they don't have to throw a rope over a beam.
