Rank the current NFL starting quarterbacks

  • sportchampps
This is based on their play this season.

    1. Aaron Rodgers
    2. Tom Brady ( does about the same as breEs with less)
    3. Brees
    4. Stafford (a gunslinger who will put up points on the board)
    5. Big Ben
    6. Eli manning
    7. Romo
    8. Matt Ryan
    9. Fitzpatrick would be higher if not for recent slump
    10. Tebow 8-1 td to int and he wins somehow
    11. Cam newton
    12. Dalton
    13. Flacco
    14. Alex smith good game manager so far

After this it's kinda messy with so many injuries and people having bad seasons. I think big Ben and stafford are really close at 4 and 5. I don't think tebow can stay hot but right now I'll give him credit for what he has done so far.

Tebow is not a top 10 QB. GTFO
  • Terry_Tate
Alex Smith 14? Are you nuts? He has one of the best TD/TO ratios in the league!

    Sorry F4F, couldn't help myself :)
  • BR1986FB
Stafford, Fitzpatrick, Tebow & Dalton too high. I think Flacco is a putz but I think he should be higher than all of those except Stafford.

I would think Tebow would be one of your favorite type's of QB, a game manager who doesn't turn the ball over and takes over in the 4th quarter.

Anyway, to be serious, I love these ranking types of threads. We already had the top 7, but I'll do 15. Hopefully it's somewhat the same as my top 7.

    1. Aaron Rodgers
    2. Tom Brady
    3. Drew Brees
    4. Ben Roethlisberger
    5. Matt Stafford
    6. Tony Romo
    7. Matt Schaub
    8. Eli Manning
    9. Matt Ryan
    10. Jay Cutler
    11. Andy Dalton(homer alert)
    12. Ryan Fitzpatrick
    13. Joe Flacco
    14. Michael Vick
    15. Cam Newton

I think that's the top 15 and you could trade some of them around and I think it would be ok, but outside of them I think maybe a good Philip Rivers is the only one you could add. I understand the Alex Smith argument but he doesn't do enough to me to be top 15.

Can't stand him...a running back who occasionally throws (accurately). Just like Mike Vick.

But the turn over machine Mike Vick does?

Vick is 10x the QB that tebow is though. But I guess theyre kind of in the same category

As many close games as the Browns have lost this year you wouldn't a QB do the things Tebow has done this year for your team?

No, because John Fox is getting "blood" out of that "turnip." He revamped his offense to give the Donks a fighting chance with Tebow's limited skill set. Shurmur wouldn't be that imaginative. He'd have Tebow throwing A LOT....and THAT is where the trouble would start.

Skyhook79;993327 wrote:But the turn over machine Mike Vick does?
Touché. I'd be ok with Alex Smith over Mike Vick, but I still think Vick at his best is far better than Smith at his best.

I would agree with that but Vick this year has turned the ball over way too many times at crucial times.

LMFAO with Tebow as a top 10 QB. Might as well rate Dilfer and Brad Johnson as top 10 QBs of all time since they won SBs.
  • like_that
Just for the record, before the Tebow nut huggers get their panties in a bunch, I like Tebow. He is a good person, and a hard worker. I never understood why people hated him. I just don't think he is a good QB at all.

    With no thought:

    25. Locker
    26. Mcnabb
    27. Ponder
  • BR1986FB
You forgot Dalton and I'm not a Colt McCoy "fan" but I think he's better then Locker, McNabb & Ponder.

While we're confessing I'll admit it too. I thought Newton was going to be a Jafatass Russell-like bust. WAY off on that one. He gets more weapons around him than Steve Smith and watch out.

Peyton has torn it up this year :(

    Mark Sanchez at 16? Really?

Kevin Kolb at 19? He's owned this year too.

Why would even bother ranking Jake Locker? How can both Christian Ponder AND Donovan McNabb make the list yet the Vikings are 2-9.

Andy Dalton not in the top 27?

If we're ranking them all, where is Matt Moore?

At least you did get it right ranking either Washington QB and Blaine Gabbert (although a rookie) near the bottom. Colt McCoy is probably also in the bottom 5.

Understood. But he's so good that him not playing still has him #2. He's so good he's 100% of the colts' wins.

    31. Tebow
    32. Painter

I'm surprised Yates,Palko,Hanie and Leinart weren't ranked. Also like you said if were ranking them all where is Matt Hasselbeck?
