Jack Del Rio out in J'ville
-
gorocks99Just scrolled across ESPN
-
darbypitcher22Not really a surprise I guess. Hasn't he been on the hot seat for a while now?
-
BR1986FBSurprised it wasn't earlier after he and his O-Coordinator gift wrapped that win for the Browns a couple of weeks ago. I think even Shurmur was probably laughing at how bad they tightened up with playcalling to end the game.
-
NonProbably time for a change.
It looked like they were starting to build something with the win over Baltimore but not much after that.
68-70 record...sort of an up-and-down tenure...not a terrible coach, he'll probably end up as an assistant head coach somewhere -
BR1986FBSounds like former Browns and Ohio State DB's coach/defensive coordinator Mel Tucker will get the interim job...
-
mucalum49Slow day for the Jags. Fire their coach and announce the team has been sold.
-
SpeedofsandA Pakistani owned NFL team? WTF?
-
HereticMore of a surprise it took them this long to fire him.
-
sportchamppsHe's a good coach stuck with a bad team he deserves a chance elsewhere

jordo212000I've been in the "fire Del Rio" camp for a long time. Unbelievable he had that job as long as he did. He never did anything.
Crazy that Jacksonville has only had two head coaches since their inception. -
karen lotzRandy Edsall will apparently get some interest in coaching the Jags. HUH?
-

Funny because I hear a lot of Maryland fans have buyer's remorse. Lots of unhappy people around the program now.karen lotz;993440 wrote:Randy Edsall will apparently get some interest in coaching the Jags. HUH? -
karen lotzYeah that's why I said HUH. Doesn't make any sense, especially when you consider he called Maryland his "dream job".
-
gerb131Bout time.

Was that before or after he kept shamelessly promoting Under Armour in his press conference. I think I read somewhere where he kept using their tagline "we must protect this house"karen lotz;993529 wrote:Yeah that's why I said HUH. Little DannyDel Rio will likely land a gig on the defensive staff somewhere next season. That is his strength.
As for Randy Edsall, John Feinstein wrote a piece yesterday in the Washington Post calling for Edsall's head. As a noted author, sport reporter and occasional television appearances his voice carries a lot of weight.

Manhattan BuckeyeFeinstein lost all credibility with the Duke lacrosse non-crime. That guy blew it as much as the gang of 88.

At least he plans on keeping the team in Jacksonville for a while. Good for some of those fans but they could be the first team on the move to LA if they ever get that stadium built -
Manhattan Buckeye
Agreed, either this guy is willing to sink his cash in the current market, or focusing on greener pasture in L.A.darbypitcher22;994437 wrote:Thanks.

HitsRusJust got back from Florida, and the scuttlebutt down there is that they expect the Jags to move to LA within 3 years. I don't have link, just listening to the sportscasters there.
-
Manhattan Buckeye^^^
It would make geographic sense as well....send the Jaguars to LA and put them in the NFC west, and move St. Louis to the AFC south. Jaguars in LA with AZ, SF and SE along with St. Louis with Indy, Tenn. and Houston is a lot better. -
bo shemmy3337Anyone ells find it odd that he was fired and then there was a new owner within 1 hour? That is a lot of changes for that short of time.
