NBA players, owners reach deal.

I dont really care to watch a team kill another team. Undefeated or not, Ill see them pull it off in the playoffs. I dont need to watch all 19 games they play.Skyhook79;987431 wrote:If the Packers come into that game undefeated it will look great, unless they pull an Indianapolis Colts and rest the the starters. -

Yeah you don't fuck with china. If you do, they'll treat you like cats. -
like_thatWhat do the Chinese contracts state? They can't make the players stay there. I am pretty sure the contract just says they will not be paid if they leave for the NBA.

Very good chance of that happening with a shortened season, no off season camps, and a shortened training camp. Especially with how young this team is. You have to figure Baron Davis was busy getting fatter this extended off season too. If not, hopefully he comes into this season with a chip on his shoulder so the Cavs can trade rape another team. Maybe they can trade their PG for the overall first round pick again lol.hoops23;987370 wrote:Players must still reform union, and small details such as drug testing, early entry draft age, and D-League assignments must be ironed out.
Should be a 66 game season.
Hopefully the Cavs go 10-56 and secure another top pick, while Kyrie Irving and TT get some development/experience. -
Commander of AwesomeI've heard nothing but good things about Baron Davis this offseason, for whatever that's worth.

B Diddy one of my favorite players esp in his Hornet days.Commander of Awesome;987889 wrote:I've heard nothing but good things about Baron Davis this offseason, for whatever that's worth. -
MulvaWell now that I've thought about the Cavs for the first time in months, I'm officially pissed off that we drafted Tristan Thompson again.
-
Commander of Awesomelol, def still seems like a reach and a waste of pick now as it did then.

bo shemmy3337I would rather them not play. The players and owner both already made people very mad and this is nothing more than a temporary agreement and we will be dealing with it again in 6 years. I would rather them sit out a year and actually agree on something so this does not happen again
-
KR1245I know Im in the minority but I was ok with the Thompson pick. I almost forgot that we traded JJ.
Wonder if the Cavs will get to use the exception? -

Do us a favor and just stfu. This thread would be better off for it.bo shemmy3337;988288 wrote:I would rather them not play. one would think that they have a week to use it because it was good until the 8th of july and the nba froze the clock with the lockout on the 1st of july...but who knows though. that july 8th date could have been etched in stone no matter what kind of labor dispute the league was inKR1245;988293 wrote:I know Im in the minority but I was ok with the Thompson pick. Methinks that Dan Gilbert will have made sure there's some sort of provision in the new CBA that allows us to use it.dazedconfused;988319 wrote:one would think that they have a week to use it because it was good until the 8th of july and the nba froze the clock with the lockout on the 1st of july...but who knows though. that july 8th date could have been etched in stone no matter what kind of labor dispute the league was in
Really happy that the NBA is coming back, if for no other reason that it's something to watch during the week. Also, I'm hoping I'll be able to see the Cavs play if they come out to PHX this year. -

Azubuike24Wondering about the NBA rule. Lots of conflicting information, but I've seen reports about the players do NOT really care either way and it isn't one of the issues they are pushing. The owners on the other hand want a 2-year rule. It would apply to this year's current college class too, so all the current Freshman would be required to stay another season.

I saw that. It helps out the teams likely to finish among the worst in the league this year (Minn, Cle, etc.), because they can get a player like Barnes, PJIII, or Sully and then get another piece next year if they suck again.Azubuike24;988359 wrote: The owners on the other hand want a 2-year rule. Azubuike24It actually hurts those teams IMO. I say that because half of the projected lottery picks will be forced to stay in school. Especially if you need a big man. The only 2 true centers (the likely #1 and #2 picks, Davis and Drummond) won't be draft eligible.

Commander of AwesomeAny word on the trade exception the Cavs received? Does it go to waste?

MulvaKentucky would just be completely unfair next season if a 2 year rule is adopted.
-
Azubuike24I can only hope. Especially if Lamb stays as well. Ryan Harrow eligible and three top 25 players already signed. It would be a banner-type year.

I disagree. Say the Cavs make the lottery two years in a row and end up with a top 5 pick in 2012 and a top 5 pick in 2013. Instead of getting Barnes OR Davis, they can now get both. I don't see how that hurts them.Azubuike24;988381 wrote:It actually hurts those teams IMO.
I do agree that it hurts the teams with picks 8(ish) and worse in the lottery because those teams would have gotten either a stud freshman or sophomore this year and now the pool is shrunk. -
Pick6
I expect the Cavs to start turning the corner after this season, so I would rather this coming years draft class be deeper so they have more to work with/make sure they can get their biggest need.lhslep134;988499 wrote:I disagree.
