I think they are missing the post season too. Rex Ryan is nothing special....average at best.

Also, it wouldn't surprise me if the Jets did make the playoffs. They seem to do this shit a lot. I'm not going to count on it, though. I've all but given up on the season.

justincredible;977858 wrote:Average would be a .500 record, right? Rex is 25-15 as a head coach in the regular season, 29-17 if you include playoffs.
That's a respectable record, but I still think he is an average coach.

herp derp. What bet did you make? Like actually money or avatar/sig? If is the later who gives a shit this is just a minor league site. If its acutal money well then that's less money for hookers and blow.

Sure it's been mentioned by Sanchez pretty much sucks. He's starting to reach Carson Palmer-like status with those pick 6's.

If the Jets don't make the playoffs then you have to keep a signature of my choosing until the first regular season game of next season. If they Jets do make the playoffs then you can pick a signature for the same duration.

Justin this bet is just for Non sorry ;).
Not trying to back down from a bet, but I'm really not a big enough Jets guy to go for a bet like that.

I just think with the high expectations and where they're at right now, they'll get to work and make some adjustments. The schedule is not that difficult either. And they've gone on similar late-season runs the past couple years.

Ryan is a good coach. Passionate. Dedicated. I think the bigger problem might be with the offensive coordinator and with Sanchez. Sanchez isn't showing enough consistency for them to trust him as an elite QB and therefore the offense has an identity crisis.

I guess I just don't see an average coach making it to two AFC title games in his first two seasons as head coach without a stud QB. I guess you could point to the fact that he had a stud defense, but that was all his doing, so...

you also expected New England to beat Pittsburgh

and didn't expect the Steelers to be 7-3 back when they were 2-2

IMO, Schottenheimer is the main problem. I want to see what Sanchez can do in a different coordinators offense. I want Bill Callahan promoted and Schotty schown the door.

I didn't say he sucked. The jury is still out, he could become one of the top coaches.

Fair enough I will respect that. I just figured as much as we've disagreed about stuff lately would be fun to have a friendly wager. I agree with you that Ryan is a good coach I just think their offense is complete shit and Sanchez isn't that great and who knows how long Greene will be out for. Their defense is still great but this year they seem to be slipping up at the worst times.

Losing Greene may force them to put it on Sanchez whether they want to or not.

You look at that first drive of the second half the way he was firing the ball on the slants, that just needs to happen more consistent, not one series per game.

Defensively, I think they still need a dominant pass rusher. Calvin Pace is decent but not really a force like a Suggs, Harrison, Woodley, Ware and some of those guys.

    Just because he's a loudmouth doesn't mean he's a bad coach.
Explain puting the nickle in against a QB that has thrown a total of 17 passes in two games during a "must stop" final drive. Any idiot would have wanted to entice Tebow to throw the ball / not play right into strength of running the ball.

    YAH..that guy DOES suck

Jim Rome is going to be lavishing the praise on Timothy Richard Tebow today on his show. He was tweeting out last night that he is a converted believer now.

I have never seen one guy be so polarizing with people the way Tebow is. People just seem to be fascinated with what he is doing good or bad. It is kind of wild.

Oh yah, I forgot that coaches are evaluated on one drive/play. Not their overall body of work.

For all you agnostics out there....may want to reconsider.....Tebow seems to be the beneficiary of some serious divine intervention. How else do you explain his 4-1 record?
  • Raw Dawgin' it
I hate the jets...but i don't think Ryan is a bad coach, i think if he had a decent QB they'd be a much better team. Sanchez sucks

    His defense is playing better?

I think if Sanchez had a better OC he'd be a decent QB. Schotty sucks.

I don't know enough about their OC. Just know that when i've seen him play i've never been impressed and i anticipate a turnover on every drive.

How did Tebow beat Rex Ryan?

    with his feet.

Overall a little but their averages on about the same as they were in the first 5 games of the year.
  • SnotBubbles
Tim Tebow is the greatest terrible quarterback in the history of football.
