Pittsburgh Steelers (7-3) bye week

Commander of AwesomeI only see San Fran being a tough game. I really hope the over look the browns and the browns pwn them like they did back in '09 knocking them out of the playoffs. Doubt it happens though.

san fran is a better team than the steelers. It has nothing ot do about the games leading up to that one. Steelers will lose based on the fact they aren't better than the 49ers. period. end of story.Non;973244 wrote:I think if the Steelers win every game until San Francisco, they may drop that one.
If they truly need it I like their chances.
Also, San Fran will have their division locked up by then and possibly could be locked into a playoff seed. -

If Pittsburgh were at home I wouldn't be worried at all, but being at San Fran its a toss up. They have been known to slip up on trips to the west coast.DeyDurkie5;974030 wrote:san fran is a better team than the steelers. It has nothing ot do about the games leading up to that one. Regardless, with that schedule, a post season birth shouldn't be too difficult. -

San Fran may very well win that game. I wouldn't be shocked. But your reasoning is retarded. If the previous games leading up to that game mean nothing.....how exactly did you determine that they're better than the Steelers (which they may be, I just wanna see your reasoning here)? -

I would be worried no matter where the game was played at if I was a Steelers fan.I mean its not like the 49ers aren't 4-0 on the East Coast this year or anything and all of those games starting at 1pm which West Coast teams normally lose. Not to mention the 49ers are playing the best all around football right now. But your right the Steelers should make the playoffs.Automatik;974043 wrote:If Pittsburgh were at home I wouldn't be worried at all, but being at San Fran its a toss up. I don't care what they're record is on the East Coast right now, but I still stick to my statement. If the game were in Pittsburgh, in December, on Monday night....I would be a lot more confident. Still a month away anyway...a lot could happen. I'm still not overly impressed with San Fran, but their win Sunday did get my attention.Iliketurtles;974090 wrote:I would be worried no matter where the game was played at if I was a Steelers fan.I mean its not like the 49ers aren't 4-0 on the East Coast this year or anything and all of those games starting at 1pm which West Coast teams normally lose. I was saying that it won't matter if they lose the 2 games before it or win the 2 games before it, that the 49ers will win because at this point they are the better team. He was inferring that if they won every game, this game would somehow not mean that much to them so they would let the 49ers win. Which is just retarded non talk like always. I wasn't saying the games already played dont mean anything, becuase they obviously tell us what teams are good or bad, im just saying it's just idiootic to think that if the steelers won the games after the bye before that game, that htey would somehow just not care about the 49ers game. stupid, stupid, stupid non -

Fair enough I think most feel more confident when their team is at home. And you're right the game is a month away I'll just drop this now until its the week of the game... maybe either of our impression of San Fran will have changed by then.Automatik;974098 wrote:I don't care what they're record is on the East Coast right now, but I still stick to my statement. I think the circumstances of the game are important. Take last year's game when the Jets beat the Steelers in Pittsburgh. Jets needed that game more and the Steelers rested some players. Jets won but they weren't the better team. Steelers won in the championship when everything was at stake for both teams.
Let's say the Steelers arrive at that game and their backs are against the wall. They have to win to keep playoff hopes alive vs. a San Francisco team that's already in as division champs and feeling good. The 49ers will play a tough game but they just won't be as desperate. That happens regularly in the NFL late in the year. -

Yeah Non the 49ers are going to start resting people and not play hard/desperate. They are currently 8-1 and still have a chance to get the #1 seed in the NFC. You don't think they aren't going to try and play hard and win out and hope GB loses a game to get the #1 and have home field all they way through the playoffs?Non;974589 wrote:I think the circumstances of the game are important. it will hurt, certainly...but they're still not in too bad of shapesportswizuhrd;977114 wrote:What's the score?

since they play Buffalo next, the Jets can beat them for a second time
Bengals play the Ravens so one of those teams will still only have six wins...probably better from the Jets perspective that the Bengals go into a slide...Ravens beat the Jets head-to-head -
