NFL Trivia

No secret that the 1972 Dolphins were the only NFL undefeated champions. They had to beat Pittspuke in Pittspuke in order to get to the championship game. Back then, best record meant squat as it related to home field advantage.

The Browns were the only other unbeaten champs...running the table and ending up 15-0. But that was in the AAFC.

But did you know? There was one other NFL team that went to week 14 undefeated (final week). Not only did they lose, but they were subsequently knocked out of the playoffs...having just that one single defeat. Who were they and what were the particulars and details of that game??

In the 1960's this NFL championship team had a quarterback that completed less than 54% of his passes. His TD to interception rate was a truly modest 15 to 12. Even more amazing, their field goal kickers combined to make only 14 out of 33 kicks. One of these kickers was born in Columbus, OH and hit only one of 10 FG's.

    Who was this team?

I cheated but found the answer to #1. Good stuff.

[SP]1967 Baltimore Colts lost to the LA Rams in the last regular season after tying their other game that season. Both teams finished 11-1-2 in the Western Conference's Coastal Division but the Rams held the tiebreaker, so they got the playoff nod.[/SP]

BTW, the Packers finished 12-0-1 in 1929 to also finish as undefeated NFL champs
