Shaq: Lebron could coach in the NBA right now
-
krazie45LOL at Jake who was talking about Lebron and his "low basketball IQ."
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4731136 -
thedynasty1998I hear that's what New Jersey is offering Lebron, chance to be player/coach.
-
redstreak oneWow, now that would be interesting. Who was the last to do that, player and coach?
-
krazie45He's been pretty much coaching the team for 5 years now....when was the last time you saw Mike Brown command a huddle?
-
SQ_CraziesJakeGiant wrote: Because they were involved, and the offense flowed. Chucking up too many 3s is going to lend the Cavs to stand around. There is absolutely no reason, NONE, to be shooting 11 3s in a game. I'm sorry. Hence, my comment(s). That's why Kobe won't give up the best player title anytime soon; his Basketball IQ is simply greater than the Dancing Queen's.
-
sleeper^ And Kobe has the greatest coach in NBA history coaching him, and Lebron has Mike Brown. Is it Kobe's IQ or Phil Jackson's? I'll take the latter.
-
SQ_CraziesNo doubt Kobe is a great baller and has a high basketball IQ, but no one can deny that he plays in one of the best offensive systems ever created. Guys that play in systems like that don't get invited to the Heisman in college football regardless of their ridiculous stats, because most agree it's just the system. Kobe certainly benefits from being coached by Phil--I would love nothing more than for Phil to come to Cleveland.
-
Strapping Young LadHe can play QB and reciever in the NFL....I would hope he could coach in the NBA. Is there nothing this man cannot do???
Win a Championship??? -
SQ_CraziesYou know what's funny. At this exact stage of Jordan's career people were wondering if he could win a championship too--then he got Scottie Pippen.
-
Skyhook79No one listen's to what Shaq has to say anymore after his childish "how does my ass taste" video.
Yeah that kind of backfired. -
2quik4u
So you say Kobe is a great baller but then you say its just the system he plays in, so which is it?SQ_Crazies wrote: No doubt Kobe is a great baller and has a high basketball IQ, but no one can deny that he plays in one of the best offensive systems ever created. NateThis Kobe vs. Lebron pissing match is starting to get EXTREMELY old. Kobe and Lebron are both great. A lot of us have been blessed to watch these 2 and Jordan play. 3 of the Top 10 players ever already.

Trueblue23Shaq says a lot of stupid stuff lol
-
JakeGiantI think SQ's post just proved not once did I specially state the Danciing Queen had a low Basketball IQ. You need to comprehend better, Krazie. This isn't a 101 course.
-
SQ_CraziesShaq never said this "stupid" stuff about Kobe. Figured that'd be the reaction from the Laker faithful--"how can you take Shaq seriously".
Yeah, you kind of got the wrong idea. In the conversation, which started yesterday, of who has the higher basketball IQ--most who understand these things would say LeBron. People that say Kobe are underestimating the offensive system he plays in--the triangle is amazing. But I'm not trying to say the system MAKES Kobe who he is--without it he'd still put up good numbers. It's because I'm not trying to say he has a poor basketball IQ--that's how everyone reacts to something like that. Just because I say LeBron's is probably higher doesn't mean I'm saying Kobe's is poor. A guy like Danny Green isn't going to fly out to LA and be able to replace Kobe in the triangle in 5 years. It still takes a very special player to be as great in that offense as Kobe is--clearly.2quik4u wrote: So you say Kobe is a great baller but then you say its just the system he plays in, so which is it? -

What are you talking about? The only reference I made to what you said was to post your exact quote. I did comprehend it. Funny that a day later a guy who is a HOFer and has played with both guys talks about how high LeBron's basketball IQ is. I disagreed with you strongly that Kobe's is higher and now I have a guy who would know better than either one of us coming out with this. LeBron's basketball IQ has always been considered one of his best attributes.JakeGiant wrote: I think SQ's post just proved not once did I specially state the Danciing Queen had a low Basketball IQ. Dude the whole world knows Shaq says very dumb things.. anything to keep his name relevant.SQ_Crazies wrote: Shaq never said this "stupid" stuff about Kobe. Figured that'd be the reaction from the Laker faithful--"how can you take Shaq seriously".

IMO guys like MJ, Kobe, LeBron, Iverson.. they all would be very poor head coaches. They all have such high expectations, I think it would kill them to see their team lose w.out them being able to actually step on the court and help. -
Trueblue23I don't think any superstar could be an effective head coach really..
mediocre players usually make good coaches.. guys like Brian Shaw, Eric Snow.. -

Uh, that was to Krazie. Looks like I get to indict two on here.SQ_Crazies wrote:

Evidently, you haven't paid too much attention to Shaq's behavioral patterns to realize he pimps up whomever is the flavor of the month(in this case, the Dancing Queen). -
SQ_CraziesLOL, alright well the argument doesn't favor you so it's easy to say that now. When he was "pimping" Kobe I'm sure his words were taken in like the Bible.
TB--I totally agree with you and don't expect to ever see LeBron as a coach. Doesn't mean he couldn't do it--MJ could do it too, but I get what you're saying. Their own legacy makes it tough for them to coach other players--some guys are able to put that aside but most would probably get frustrated. -
jpake1Uh oh. Shaq said it. It has to be the truth.
