Week 5: Cincinnati Bengals (2-2) @ Jacksonville Jaguars (1-3)

  • slcoach
This is a great opportunity for the Bengals to get a little momentum going. Jacksonville is last in the league in scoring and the Bengals have been very good defensively. If the offense sticks with the running game and pounds it 20+ times with Ced, I can see an ugly win. It would be big for this team with another winnable game on deck with Indy.

    Bengals 16
    Jags 7

If the Bengals had any kind of offense they could have easily started the year 6-0, but id be happy with 4-2. I think the Bengals will take care of business here, something like 17-13. Low scoring ugly game.

This is true. I don't expect a Packers-like offense. All I want to see is consistency. I really like Daulton, but you can still see the rookie in him. I think that he thrives in a more uptempo offense. I also love when we get Ced going downhill. There is talent there, but it is a work in progress.

The main reason I expect a win here is this defense. They are playing very well. The defensive line has been outstanding a they have some serious depth.

The thought of possibly being 4-2 is unbelievable. God Bless Andy Dalton. If he can throw for about 300 yrds with these young guys around him then he is the real deal and the future is bright for the Bengals.

WHO DEY. I think Dalton should take a shot anytime he gets single coverage with A.J. Green. That boy is good.

Lets not get carried away. Sure, they could easily be 4-0. They could also easily be 0-4.

Need to improve on 3rd down conversion and red zone offense. Other than that they are exceeding expectations in every area.

It was nice to see/hear Tate and Leonard show their potential. Is a decision on Ced coming this week?

You could say the record thing with half the teams in the NFL. Every year there are 6-10 teams that are 8-10 plays away from being 10-6 and being in the playoffs. That is just the nature of the game.

The main issue they have on 3rd down is negative plays and penalties on first and second down.

I completely agree that one on one on Green should mean an a shot is taken. The kid is the real deal.

Through 4 Weeks the Bengals have the #1 Team Defense in YPG allowed in the league & 6th in Scoring Defense... http://www.nfl.com/stats/team Contain MJD & get off the field on 3rd Downs & this can be another road victory

    Blackout Bowl 2011?

Mike Zimmer is such a great coach. I really hope he's around for years to come, no matter what it takes.

    I say Bengals by 3 or 7.

They get credit for 2 wins if they beat the Jags?

If JAX can sell this out, Bengals fans may never hear the end of it.

Were talking about after the Indy game, which was mentioned in the first post. Nobody said after this game.

I think the Bengals will split the next 2 and be 3-3 just because they're so young.

    Spread is Jags -3

Parking will cost more than a game ticket.

Bengals coming of a huge win. They are much better than most expected.

They are feeling good about themselves right now and this is a game they should win no doubt.

and that is why they will lose.

It scares me that I agree with your logic.

Shit like this happens all the time in the NFL.

Ya win a big home game. You feel all great about yourself, and then you go on the road to face an opponant that isnt really a rival and that you should beat. Ya come out flat and lay an egg.

Happens all the time. It isnt college where there are many times the other team realistically cannot beat ya unless you give it to them and you can show up and get the W.

Bengals have played better on the road than at home so far this year. 1-1 with the loss at Denver being the blemish.

That being said, I think they lose to Jacksonville.

Cleveland's Bye Thread has more posts than this one. Our fanbase is pathetic!

To be fair though, the ratio of Cleveland area people to Cincinnati people on this site has to be at least 10-1 though I'd imagine. I can only think of a handful of people on here who live in or are from Cincinnati.
  • GOONx19
And who exactly do you know on here from Cleveland? Very few of the Browns fans are actually from the city.
  • Terry_Tate
I said Cleveland area, and also anywhere from like Columbus on north will be Browns fans.
