WKNR and 92.3 The Fan

  Ok so WTF is KNR doing? They let LCB go? Did Cherry go to? They are now getting Bruce freaking Hooley? I am done with that station. Anyone think 92.3 will pick up LCB? I am so confused.

  LeCharles Bentley abruptly resigned from WKNR Thursday night… just as “Xs and Os with the Pros,” the show he co-hosted alongside Je’Rod Cherry, was set to begin. (It was so sudden that liners featuring LeCharles’ name stillplayed at the end of commercial breaks, but Je’Rod and show producer Emmett Golden had to conduct the show as if he never had existed on Planet Earth.)

  I read some rumors that he also recently went on an anit ESPN rant and that had something to do with it. Oh well. Adding Bruce Hooley to the station is about the worst decision ever though.

  KNR is D-E-A-D ! There's a new sheriff in town which is MUCH better in 92.3.

  Bump and Run was one of my favorite segments on sports talk radio, and I would really hate to think we have seen the last of the TBPer's.

  I've never heard anyone but Ohio State fans complain about Hooley. Maybe getting him away from a city of blind fanatics (Browns fans are the worst about it in Cleveland, aren't nearly as bad as Columbus) will help him.

  Agreed, my anteena sucks and can barely get it in Canton. However before they switched 92.3 was just fuzz for me.

  His background is the Plain Dealer. Do you know anything about PD reporters and their attitudes? If not, let me tell you. They are some of the most egocentric, whining little babies you'll never want to encounter. It's either how the PD trains them, or they have a service that goes out and finds the most bitter, caustic and self-centered media folks they can locate, and then hires them.
  
  I speak from having had to deal with about 20 different representatives of that organization over the years. There wasn't a nice (or sane) one in the bunch.

  KNR's hosts are terrible. Rizzo and his loser co hosts just argue and spew rumors. I hate Jim Rome. Roda is a freaking Pittsburgh fan! I can handle Reghi but that's about it. I love most of what The Fan does(don't care for Booms). I listen on my phone all the time. It's ten times better than KNR ever was.

  I agree, the Wayne County area doesn't have reception to this station, but on my trips to Canton everyday, I can catch parts of the show but still bad reception.

  Yeah Wayne County is the northern most area of the territory I cover, I can pick up WKNR as far south as Cambridge/Zanesville.

  It makes me mad because they will be talking about something good and then it just goes out....then it will come back on when it's commercial lol. In my little time of listening to this station, it is WAY better than 850.

  Why because he doesn't always toe the homer line people tune in to hear? Because he tells it like it is, not just what people want to hear so they can feel all warm and fuzzy inside about their teams? Please be honest with your answers to these questions.
