If its an MMA type anything goes fight. I sure would hope an MMA fighter would beat a Boxer. Thatd be like saying a Kenyan would beat Usain Bolt in the 5000 meters, its running...but completely different kinds of running. Just like Boxing and MMA are both fighting...but completely different kindsrobj55;901207 wrote:In a fight -
Gblockif you are saying stand up no take downs...no mma fighter would beat a boxer
anyway legal or not it was a cheap shot...the ref wasnt looking and ortiz was looking at the ref...i hope they do a rematch i think ortiz had a shot. my question is why was ortiz so happy and smiling??? -

I'm wrong? A few TT? I said let me know when they have 6 TT...and let me know when 90% of the timeline is posts about an MMA fight.hoops23;901206 wrote:I hope you know you're wrong. UFC had a few TT on twitter during the Silva fight. They will Saturday too.

hoops23Dude, this wasn't a top boxing match. Everybody knew PBF would win.
It's trending like crazy BECAUSE OF HOW IT ENDED. Lmao -

no shit, they can have their one night a year where they are trending, other than that no one really cares anymorehoops23;901214 wrote:Dude, this wasn't a top boxing match. Everybody knew PBF would win.

Hell no, they are so mismatched it's not even funny. Everyone knew Floyd was gonna win just like they knew Manny would beat Mosley.SportsAndLady;901212 wrote:I'm wrong? A few TT? I said let me know when they have 6 TT...and let me know when 90% of the timeline is posts about an MMA fight.

Come on, Ortiz had NO shot. He was outmatched and outclassed in this fight. It's why he threw the headbutt to begin with!Gblock;901211 wrote:if you are saying stand up no take downs...no mma fighter would beat a boxer

Also, Ortiz was happy because he wants no part of PBF. If he did, he would have been pissed demanding a rematch. -

You didn't say no kicks and knees. In which case any MMA fighter that doesn't blow would demolish a straight boxer. Boxers stand more narrow since they don't have to worry about checking kicks so a straight boxer would probably still have this stance and not be able to walk for a few days after the fight.Gblock;901211 wrote:if you are saying stand up no take downs...no mma fighter would beat a boxer

But anyway that sort of hypothetical is stupid and tired and we've already seen those "this discipline vs that discipline" fights a million times. And the boxing vs MMA thing is stupid. We get it, boxing still draws more PPV and such but to act like that will always be the case especially with how boxing has been doing the past 10 years vs how MMA has been doing during the same period.
Wait some more time. No younger people really give a shit about boxing but they all love MMA. Anyone that's too young to remember Tyson fighting doesn't care about boxing.SportsAndLady;901212 wrote:I'm wrong? A few TT? 2kool4skoolWho cares if it's trending on twitter, do you think this was a GOOD thing for the sport. Embarrassing fight, and even more embarrassing production after it.
The only publicity the sport receives in the mainstream is negative anymore. This, and the inability to put together the one fight people really want to see. -
robj55
Nailed it, anyone see what Aldo did to Uriah Faber's legs, damn. Don't think boxers would like getting kicked in the face/head either, but it's a pointless discussion.I Wear Pants;901222 wrote:You didn't say no kicks and knees. killer_ewokI read that during the post-fight press conference Floyd called for Larry Merchant to be fired. Why? Well, Floyd stated,"He don't give me my just dues."
LOL
