Loving what JJ Hickson has been doing with the playing time he's gotten! He's active on defense and offense and is also athletic enough to provide us what we need at the 4. He can also hit the 15-18 foot jumper which is a HUGE plus.

JJ Hickson has been looking much better. And to think he is only 20 and in his 2nd year...
  • devil1197
JJ is 21 and he barely played last season.
  • hoops23
Yeah, JJ just turned 21 in September...

But I call him a 2nd year rookie due to how much time he actually got last season... I love that he's starting now because it just makes our bench better by bringing Andy in for a spark...

I also love what AP and Moon have brought. I know Moon hasn't shot the ball well, but he's played some terrific defense and has rebounded well. AP is just stroking the 3 so far and also plays some tough defense.

Moon was given more minutes tonight since West was out and he played very well.

I think the guys are gelling and this road trip was huge.

Yep. I honestly am starting to think that West isn't as big of a piece to this team as what was first thought. Now that AP and Moon are gelling with the rest of the team, this Cavs team isn't missing a beat and the offense is absolutely putting up numbers lately.

Delonte is important, don't get me wrong, but if he doesn't get his shit together then it's time to look at other options. This is the most important season in Cavaliers history and it can not be messed up because of one role player.

West is pretty important imo. He is our back up PG, plays great defense, and can drive/shoot. But he isn't that important to keep him around to see if he snaps out of it.

But there is the other thing. Boobie has really proven to me this year that he is back to where we thought he could be.

I've been pimping up Gibson all offseason both on the Huddle and on RCF, because I knew he'd bounce back after that foot injury plagued him all season last year. His shot is falling and he's active on defense, plus he's put on what looks to be 10-15 pounds over last season.

As far as West, I still think he's a key part, but not key enough to let him mess everything up. He needs to man up and take control of his disorder and stop with the nonsense. If he can't do that then we need to part ways with him asap as this doesn't need to be a reoccurring issue.

Gibson is nowhere near a back up PG though. He needs to be set up shooter with other guys creating his shot.
  • hoops23
Yeah, but our offense doesn't really use a traditional PG. Usually when LeBron is out of the game, Mo Williams is still in anyway..

Then LeBron will come in and handle the rock while Boobie comes in for Mo. AP is also capable of running the offense.

I don't know. I just don't know if Delonte will have any impact this year. With all the trouble and looming court dates, he will really have to have a reality check imo.

Lebron is apparently changing his number next year. He said after the game tonight, that no one should wear #23 ever again. Bron told Segs that he would wear #6, his Olympic number.

    I agree.

    I heard that as well..

He was actually talking about doing it last year too..

It'll be interesting to see if he can get every player that wears #23 to switch. The way he made it sound was that he would only switch if everyone agreed to never wear it again.
  • wildcats20
I think he'll do it regardless. Bron has a real respect for the game and the players that have come before him. I would love to see #23 retired throughout the League. It's the same thing as Gretzy's #99 being retired through out the NHL.

He has no muscle defintion like he should lol.
He's always reminded me of a black Tyler Hansbrough?

I don't know, maybe I'm high or something, haha...

Pretty exciting game last night. Poor defense all the way around, but fun to watch. I don't really think this was a statement game for the Cavs. Everybody expected them to play like this before the season began. It's just now starting to come together. Maybe that is the slight statement that was proven-- Ok rest of the NBA, we've got it going in the right direction, watch out. Not that I really think it's news worthy. Mostly everybody knew this team would start playing good basketball sooner rather than later. JJ had a pretty easy night. I think on most of his field goals people forget to cover him and was WIDE open. Things like that will happen with Beasley on the floor. I'd love to see these teams meet up in the 2nd round. It's always an exciting game.

a very nice win for the cavs last night.i think they are starting to jell as a team.
  • grodt
This team is starting to jell already which is a good thing. It was only a matter of time before they learned how to play together. Also, if JJ can play at roughly the same level that he's been playing at then it'll almost be like we added another free agent because I don't think many people expected that level of production out of him.
