Cleveland Cavaliers @ Houston Rockets

SQ, right now I'd be optimistic about Bosh.

Ferry will sell his soul to land him. Z, Shaq, West, Hickson anyone is trade worthy outside of Bron right now.
  • Trueblue23
I wouldn't be that optimistic either lol
  • SQ_Crazies
    Still not that optimistic.
  • SQ_Crazies
I'll shit my pants on purpose if we land Bosh--and that's the last thing I want to do. That's how confident I am in that.
  • dave
Toronto has no reason to make that move whatsoever.
  • SQ_Crazies
I wouldn't be surprised if they trade him--they should otherwise they're not going to get anything for him. But they aren't going to want what Cleveland has to offer and I doubt they're too willing to pair LeBron and Bosh up in their own conference.

    Quoted for reference.

Toronto has all the reasons to make the deal.

They just sunk a ton of money into Hedo. They've got some young pieces--and Chris Bosh is walking regardless. They're not going to let the franchise player walk for nothing.

Shaq offers them HUGE cap flexibility, plus they could get a nice piece like Hickson. Especially in this economy. Dead money = gold.
  • SQ_Crazies
They could get an offer they like from somewhere else too--Cleveland will be one of the last teams they'll want to make a deal with. LeBron and Bosh together could start a dynasty in the East that lasts 8+ years. The Raptors don't want that anymore than anyone else in the East.

My biggest question is...why do we always suck against Houston--especially in Houston? It's too consistent to be a coincidence, I don't get it.
  • burt07
Yeah it's a good question. I think part of it has to do with LeBron against Battier. For some reason the last few years, and including the first half tonight, LeBron is afraid to go inside with Battier on him. It seemed like in the 2nd half tonight LeBron finally realized, o wait, yeah I can go inside and there really isn't that much more else in the post that is going to stop me. But yeah it's always ugly in Houston, they're just one of those teams that has the Cavs number I guess.

    Shaq is done.

The good news, Cavs fans, is that Shaq can be turned to pretty much anybody on the trade block come February.

I'd start the Chris Bosh watch now.
Cavs can't do that. Shaq plans on getting a ring for the King.

yeah, we suck balls right now

Rockets being a young team with their top two players out have nothing to lose, if they win it's a plus, if they lose it was expected. These young players are hungry to show what they can do and put it all on the court. Battier is one of the better defenders in the league and did a good job on LeBron. Brooks has been a leader for this team all year. With Shaq playing for Cleveland it gives all teams a chance against them.

Is this the same Shaq that many said would be a huge help for this team?
He is the same guy that helped the Suns to a championship . . . No wait the Suns did not win one with him.
  • burt07
Hold on NCF, could you find a brighter color for your post, I feel my eyes aren't bleeding quite enough.
  • SQ_Crazies
This is the same Shaq I said would help this team. I still believe he does. If the Lakers lose one game does that mean that Andrew Bynum isn't what you thought he was?

Compared to some of the other teams in the league, what does Cleveland have to offer Toronto that would make them even think about trading Bosh to them? Hickson and Delonte won't cut it. Late round draft picks won't exactly spice up the deal. The Cavs don't have a lot of valuable trade assests, not the kind that get you Bosh. However, I will say this. I've seen some really DUMB moves in the NBA out of desperation. Anything can happen in this league, even if it doesn't make sense.
  • SQ_Crazies
^Exactly. We have some VERY valuable trade assets--but not for guys like Bosh. I'm not optimistic, BUT they may want to take on Shaq to free up space for the FA period if they think that Bosh is going to walk at the end of the season anyways--plus they'd get a nice young player in Hickson so you can see where that line of thinking is. Could happen, but if they deal him I doubt it's to the Cavs. If they did could you imagine the hatred towards the Raptors from every other GM in the league? LOL, pairing LeBron and Bosh and essentially making LeBron back in Cleveland a 100% sure thing.
  • jpake1
They only way I see him being traded to the Cavs is if it's a sign and trade after the year. He tells Toronto it was a close call, but he wants to play with Cleveland. Everybody agrees to a sign and trade. But Toronto would have to be stupid to do that. They'll get less for him at that point in time.
  • SQ_Crazies
No way it happens like that, because like you said they'll get less for him. They're either going to trade him before the deadline or he's going to walk.

Doesn't matter. We need to just stop having this discussion--the only way Bosh plays in Cleveland with LeBron is to sign as a FA.
  • jpake1
If he's going to walk, by all means they will most definitely try to do the sign and trade and get whatever they can. The odds of him just walking and them saying bye without trying is very very slim. I still think that is stupid. If you think he's going to walk, trade him now.
  • SQ_Crazies
    That's exactly what we're saying.

If he has no intentions of playing for the Raptors next year then what is the point in a sign and trade? He'll just walk.

I don't know what the odds of anything are because for all I know he may want to sign back in Toronto--I'm of the opinion that he doesn't, but who knows.
  • jpake1
There is a huge point in a sign and trade. The Raptors can give him more money than any other team. It serves Bosh very well to sign his 6yr contract then be traded.
