Michael Vick getting paid ... 6 years, $100 million
-
gorocks99~$40 million guaranteed.

Good or bad deal for the Eagles? -
MulvaBad deal.
-
dave$40mil Seems fair for both sides. He could have played out this season for $16mil and probably signed a long term deal for another $40mil guaranteed if he didn't get hurt but good move to lock up what he once had.
-
robj55Good for him to redeem himself, 6 years seems like a lot for someone who is already 31 and relies on his athleticism to play the position though. He has improved from the pocket though as evident from last year.

But he spent 2 years away from the game, so really it's like he's 29 in terms of taking an NFL pounding.robj55;876817 wrote:Good for him to redeem himself, 6 years seems like a lot for someone who is already 31 and relies on his athleticism to play the position though. SportsAndLady6 years seems long..but if he sucks it up, can't they just cut him?

Kinda like the Ricky Williams situation.lhslep134;876818 wrote:But he spent 2 years away from the game, so really it's like he's 29 in terms of taking an NFL pounding. -

Hb31187Glad to see one of my favorite players signed for an extension and gettin paid...but i think they overpaid a little for him. Shoulda cut the years down to 4 or so id say

Yeah but almost 2 years of prison pounding....lhslep134;876818 wrote:But he spent 2 years away from the game, so really it's like he's 29 in terms of taking an NFL pounding. -
Little DannyWow, imagine how much he would have paid if he were white!

sleeperOverpaid.

End of LineBad deal.

Manhattan BuckeyeCrazy contract, he still hasn't played a full season in years, his style of game lends itself to injuries and one can make the argument that his success last year is partially due to his absence and teams not scouting him. There is little chance the Iggles fulfill the entire $100M, but still the $40M in guaranteed is nonsensical.
-
BR1986FBToo much money for too long of a duration. Behind Philly's swiss cheese O-Line he'll be lucky to survive the contract.
-
rydawg5It's 6 years but only 4 with good behavior.

IPOTW. I guess they should Jordan Palmer then since he's never played in the NFL regualr season so he's really like a rookie in terms of NFL pounding.lhslep134;876818 wrote:But he spent 2 years away from the game, so really it's like he's 29 in terms of taking an NFL pounding. -

Ah, high profile pro athlete. Odds are he was the pound-er and not the pound-ee. Probably getting first pick, too, because everyone would be trying to suck up to him for free swag and shit.wildcats20;877094 wrote:Yeah but almost 2 years of prison pounding.... -

IPOTW? Then how come Ricky Williams is one of only a few RB in history to rush for over 1000 yards in a season over the age of 30 (the age running backs hit a wall)? Because he missed a few years away from the game.Commander of Awesome;877271 wrote:IPOTW. Next time you want to post a fail, try looking up some facts. -
Hb31187
He is a rookie in terms of wear and tear on a player, he's held a clipboard for his entire career. He just happens to fucking suck, unlike Vick. So the less wear and tear on a good player whos gettin up there in age, the better.Commander of Awesome;877271 wrote:IPOTW. Its not a fail, way to argue with an exception. Look up how many times vick has stayed healthy for 16 games. Or look up another time a player relies on their athleticism continues to play well into their mid 30s. Nice fail frodo.lhslep134;877289 wrote:IPOTW? Exception? What's the rule? How many players miss 2 years away from the game in their prime? The only ones I can think of are Williams and Vick, and both have excelled since returning to the league. And don't running backs rely on their athleticism? And isn't Ricky Williams a running back?Commander of Awesome;877305 wrote:Its not a fail, way to argue with an exception. You're so wrong it's hilarious. Nice fail.
"Pwnd"
Oh and bringing up Jordan Palmer? Exactly how close is he talent wise to Ricky and Vick? Yeah, thought so. -
lhslep134
Exactly, but now that COA is proven wrong, he's going to go on major spin control.Hb31187;877295 wrote:He is a rookie in terms of wear and tear on a player, he's held a clipboard for his entire career. Commander of AwesomeNo spin control needed Frodo. I can also point to players like Jerry Rice, TO, Farve, Emmitt Smith etc.. that played well into their mid 30s + without every missing a season. How does that fit into your away from the game 2 years BS? How do you factor in a Kajana Carter? lolfail, just admit it was idiotic statement/dumb assumption and move on.
