Reds vs Nationals....Game 3
-
Ironman92Cueto at 100 pitches...still in the 6th
-
Ironman92Sam Holbrook just rung up Desmond on a full count pitch that was 3-5 inches outside to end the threat.....Cueto and Hanigan were taking forever....and I have a strong suspicion that Holbrook was tired of the pace and gave in......gigantic call for the Reds.
-
Ironman92Todd Coffey now in....word is between innings he sprinted in, tripped and his momentum took him through the stadium and to the Westin.
-
Ironman92Holbrook just calling everyone out now....gotta get to that plane!.....screw letting the game play itself out 100%

Yet another one of Brandon's efforts to get the advantage by trickery! They don't work about 75% of the time, and of that 75% there are no advantages lost by trying about 75% of the time. This one worked, and I admire his fertile mind that comes up with these tricks. I'm sure this one was planted in his mind by Jeter. But most amazing is the quickness of mind to implement the tricks on very short notice at the rare opportune time. It was someone like him that thought of not catching an infield pop-up so they could get a double play and made the infield fly rule necessary!Ironman92;875856 wrote:No....it hit up past his hands a good bit....Jeter's looked like it pinched his hand but hit the knob....Phillips just was a fastball coming in with movement that surprised Phillips. Can't believe Johnson didn't argue. -
Ironman92Coffey walks Hanigan and now it's the matchup we've all been waiting for
Coffey vs Janish
Victory in Jesus -
Ironman92For some reason Cueto is back out there?
-
Ironman92Giant Morse jogged to 1st and Holbrook called him back saying he didn't get hit....Davey is pissed.....not sure if it hit him or not.
-
Ironman92From 3-0 and thought he was hit to fanning on an outside corner pitch
Cueto 11 K....119 pitches -
mhs95_06
I was wrong on that. His strongest inning, finishing with 7 IP, 119 pitches, 2.05 ERA. That is why you go a little longer with Cueto than Leake or Arroyo late in games.mhs95_06;875825 wrote:Johnny's ERA is a lock to go up with 2ER and 84 pitches thru 5 innings. This may be one of those games where he qualifies for a "quality start" after 6, but then gives up a run or more in the 7th to lose the "quality start". -
Ironman92Bruce with another huge chance to break it open
Bases loaded 1 out -
mhs95_06Reds need to build the fences higher so that they don't get robbed of so many runs on ground rule doubles!
-
Ironman92Bruce hits into a DP to end the inning.
He's had 3-0 with bases loaded and struck out then had 2-0 with bases loaded and hits into an inning ending DP....his talent is great....his plate approach is not good. Now 3-19 on the season with bases loaded. -

Or change their approaches so they can score with bases loaded and no outs -
Ironman92Chapman not looking sharp.
-
mhs95_06Reds bullpen gives up the lead again! It has happened so many times this year. A lot of blame has to go to the offense for not getting at least a one run bigger working margin for the pitchers when they had 2nd and 3rd with no out last half inning. I was thinking maybe to give Jay something to think about would be to pinch hit Alonso for him, even with the lefty on the mound.
-
Ironman92Yeah.....blown save by Chapman and the Reds offense.....Chapman wasn't sharp and Dustyball
-
Ironman92Morse = DH
Near Alonso level out there....gets Stubbs to 2nd -

Exactly!Ironman92;875887 wrote:Or change their approaches so they can score with bases loaded and no outs -
Ironman92Holbrook....goodness that was high and outside on Hanigan
-
mhs95_06That bad called 2nd strike just took Hanigan's good AB from him! He and Stubbs nearly executed a good rare hit and run play with a runner just on 2nd. Had the pitch, but too anxiously pulled it too much.
