Nationals at Reds, game 2
-
mhs95_06Fine weather in Ohio, compared to the mess on the east coast. Phillies in Cincy already!
-
mhs95_06BP with a good decision to go for the out at first after bobbling the chopper on which he was going to try for a difficult force at 2B.
-
mhs95_06Leake with a zero in the first on 18 pitches. A walk on a 3-2 pitch to the lead-off hitter after being 0-2. Once you get to 0-2 they rail against you if you give up a hard hit for throwing a strike on 0-2, but if you nibble and the batter doesn't go for one they complaining that you didn't go after him when you had him where you wanted and if you do get him out they say you used too many pitches!
-
mhs95_06Gifts from the Nats give BP 1B and home!
-
mhs95_06Hanigan fails on a called 3rd strike with Stubbs on 3rd and one out, the Leake fails to pick him up by getting a hit and Stubbs dies at 3rd. Hanigan's failure was 20 times worse than Leake's.
-
mhs95_06And on the first pitch from Leake the next half inning, the offensive failures are magnified as #8 hitter Ramos parks it for a 1-1 tie.
-
mhs95_06Cairo does what Hanigan was unable to do and gets the run in from 3rd to give the Reds the lead again, and Stubbs gets Votto in with another SF to make it a 4-2 lead. Bad Nat defense has contributed to all the Reds runs.
-
justincrediblePosting so you dont break darbys record.
-
mhs95_06What is that record?
Leake gets a big K on the previous HR hitter to get thru the 4th unscathed and save the P to lead-off the 5th, and preserve the 4-2 lead. -
justincredibleLike 65 posts in a row.
-
mhs95_06How badly did BP loaf to 2B on his bullet off the LF wall near the line that hopped way right to the LF Morse who threw a bullet to 2B and nailed BP for the 3rd out. Probably if BP had been running from 2B on a ball like that his run wouldn't have counted because the tag at 2nd would have been before he touched home!
-
chicago510Damnit justin, he was 49 away from Dimaggio

justincredibleBtw, I am at the game. Was phillips out?

Must have been like me, just documenting thoughts in case anyone is interested in reading them, maybe if they didn't get a chance to see the game.justincredible;875355 wrote:Like 65 posts in a row. -
mhs95_06I didn't see a replay, but I thought he was on the live play.
-
mhs95_06Leake with 95 pitches thru 5 with a 5-2 lead. Need to have someone ready in the bull-pen when he takes the mound in the 6th, then one base-runner and he's out of the game.
-
justincredibleNo one is warming up yet.
-
justincredibleNow lecure is warming up.
-
mhs95_06Leake is much better on defense than gold glove Arroyo!
-
mhs95_06Ok, since he got two out before someone got on, I'd give him one more hitter this inning.
-
mhs95_06107 pitches thru 6, does he get to pitch until he has another base-runner, or is that it?
-
mhs95_06Excellent base-running by Cairo tempts Desmond into a non-error, non out producing FC. I cannot believe they rule that a hit for Stubbs. Any way, Justin, that Stubbs would not have been out at first if Desmond chooses to go to first?
-
justincredibleStubbs probably beats it out after the hesitation.
-
chicago510Can't they teach Dontrelle to play LF or something? Dude was absolutely raking last night, I was at the game and he was the best hitter on the field.
-
justincredibleIf I knew you were here last night I would have bought you a beer. No I wouldn't have. I would have bought myself two and made you watch me chug them.
