Percival Garner III

  • BEAST 0332
I just wanted to update everyone on a local prodigy... Perci Garner, who is currently pitching for the Williamsport Crosscutters. Since returning from an injury, Perc has pitched tremendously! He hasn't given up more than 1 earned run in a game this season... Here are his stats for the season... Percival Garner III - 6 games: 2 starts, 20 IP, 1 win, 1 loss, 1 save, 20 K's and 1.80 ERA... Perc is on the way up and can't be stopped! I couldn't be more proud of my cousin!

Is that Single A ball? I actually was wondering how he was doing.

Glad to hear he is back in the game. Hope his career continues to move up the minor league ladder.

thanks. I really hope he makes it through...always pull for the local guys. My cousin was drafted a few years ago by the blue jays, but a torn labrum destroyed his hopes of pitching in the big leagues.

Low A, good to hear he has rebounded from injury.

Didn't this guy move to the WWF/WWE and change his name to Paul Bearer?

Gotta love the haters who probably have absolutely no athletic bone in their bodies!

This seems like a stretch. Does anyone really expect a 23 year old to in single A ball to make it to the majors? Just saying.

I would normally agree, however Perci was a 2nd round selection just last year for the Phillies and didn't play baseball his first year and a half at Ball State while he was on their football team. He is not as polished as most 23 year old pro pitchers and has a tremendous amount of raw ability. If he continues to work hard and command his pitches he has a shot. His mid 90's fastball and power slider translate well to the back end of a bullpen as he moves up the ladder, IMO.

    Kind of like this place!

Is he still playing football at BSU or has time flown by and he used all of his eligibility up?

He hasn't played football since the 2008 season.
