1. He's disliked by pretty much everyone associated with the Browns not named Lerner. The fans hate him, the players don't like playing for him, and he threw his "friend" under the bus forcing him out of the GM role.
2. He made his puppet Kokinis trade down from the #5 pick all the way down to the 20's to get a center (which he could've gotten in the next round), got a bunch of average to below-average Jets players that bring nothing to the team but kissing his ass for said pick. Drafted WR's who aren't playmakers back to back.
3. Handled the QB situation worse than anyone could've ever imagined. Waited till the week of the 1st game to pick a starter (didn't even tell the players who was starting), therefore to the surprise of no one, Quinn struggles the first 2 1/2 games against 3 top defenses....Mangini panics and puts in Anderson who proceeds to have statistically one of the worst stretches of quarterback play in the history of organized football. Reverts back to Quinn, who has been moderately decent. Possibly has destroyed the careers of both players.
4. Continues to misuse Josh Cribbs in the offense by trying to make him a wide receiver.
5. Traded away the best wide receiver on the team for a 3rd WR at best and a special teamer.
6. Hired the single worst offensive coordinator in NFL history. Daboll was a freaking QB coach for the Jets, then implements an offense that makes Jim Tressel's look innovative.
7. Tries to convey this image of being a no-nonsense disciplinarian by fining people for taking water and holding after practice padless drills that injure players. Team proceeds to commit multiple mental mistakes that these strategies are aimed to avoid.
8. Has successfully been so unlikeable to players that agents are actually advising players to stay away from Cleveland.
9. Is an incredible egomaniac that sticks to his way no matter if the result is good or bad. As long as it's done Mangini's way, wins and losses are irrelevant.
That's just off the top of my head, I can go on if necessary... -

Your roommates must not want an OC that can put points on the board.jordo212000 wrote: My roommates are both Browns fan and neither is happy about this news.
I on the other hand think it would be a good hire -
DaBrowns41Those of you wanting Mangini out. I wouldn't get too excited. He's going to be here for next year, IMO.
Parcells, Mangini, Weis, and possibly Ryan. Not sure who the GM would be yet, however. -

Congrats. You've bought into the media hype. Hype, I might add, that is not backed up by anything we've seen on the field.just_a_swimmer wrote:

If Mangini were as bad as you've said, the team would have quit on the field by now. Hell, it would have quit on him months ago when all the stories were coming out about how hard practices were and how they were being forced to hit each other without pads (proven to be a lie, by the way).
I've seen NOTHING that says players won't play for him or free agents won't come to Cleveland because of him. That is ALL speculation based on...nothing.
Provide me a link or proof that what you've said is true; otherwise, it's mere speculation that is countered by what we're watching during games.
I won't defend his use of Quinn or the hiring of Dabol; I think both were mistakes, although the Quinn benching may turn out to have been a good thing, we just won't ever know for sure unless Quinn says it helped him.
I've already addressed Braylon and the fact that he'd likely have not re-signed with the Browns, anyway (no big loss as I said, because he's simply not that good).
I want Mangini to remain the coach for at least another years UNLESS the person Lerner hires to take over operations says otherwise. Then I'll just hope and pray Randy finally got a hire right and whoever it is will be able to right this ship. -

NOOOOOO! Not Cleveland fans?! -
NateWhy all the talk of Parcells coming? Do you honestly think he would come to Cleveland? I highly doubt it.
-
DaBrowns41Those questioning the Braylon trade are being dumb.
Braylon wouldn't have re-signed with us. It's like the CC deal for the Indians. They weren't going to have the money to sign him, so they got what they can. Same thing here, only it was because Braylon didn't want to be in Cleveland. Why not get something for him? -

Lerner has money. Parcells LOVES money.Keebler wrote: Why all the talk of Parcells coming? Do you honestly think he would come to Cleveland? I highly doubt it.
Rumor has it that they've already met...
However, it's not determined where they met, if Lerner went down to Florida, or Bill came up here. -
SQ_CraziesEveryone loved it when it happened!

NateIs Parcells still with Miami or not? I haven't heard much about him lately and I really don't care to stalk him. LoL.
-
DaBrowns41He is with Miami.

I didn't read the whole post but FYI Parcells does not have a buy out with the Dolphins if a new owner took over the team during his tenure (which occurred). He can be had by the highest bidder.DaBrowns41 wrote: He is with Miami. -
dubcee44people lets look @the history of the people from the new england superbowl coaching tree.the years they were on top was lighting in a bottle.lets go get a real coach and for once spend some money.
