Oregon State, Baylor, SMU, BYU, Utah, and Wisconsin -
rydawg5I saw the oregon state game too. Saw that's 4. Is somewhere around 5 where you become an expert?

Yup. After game 5 you realize that a guy who completed 66% of his passes and almost a 5 TD to 1 INT ratio does not equate to somebody who is "not that great" -

So Troy Smith would be the GOAT of the NFL with those numbers. I just can't believe you are tossing stats from a guy who played in the MWC. -

You're dense.
YOU said he wasn't that great in college. That's what this conversation has been about the entire time. But since that conversation, you continue to keep trying to make this about his NFL prospects, which I have already said I have no idea as to whether or not he will be good. He showed flashes tonight of being able to QB in the NFL. Will he though? I have no idea.
My main issue was that you thought a guy with great numbers and a ton of wins to his name wasn't that good in college, which is actually kind of an asinine statement to make -
AutomatikHoly hell you guys are nerds.
Dalton had a very solid college career. How will that translate to the NFL? Who the fuck knows. He was definitely better than "not that great." -

Again, I didn't think he looked that great in College but he was good, and just because you great stats doesn't make you great. You have to know that. -

so he was great? -
AutomatikI would say yes, he had a great career.

In a June Jones / Mike Leach offense I would agree wholeheartedly. But their offense was pretty balanced and wasn't gimmicky, and they played pretty good competition. You don't accidentally get the stats he put up last year. -

This is a sports message board, no? What do you think people do around here? -

What would he have to do to be considered "great" in yours eyes? Heisman? National title?
I believe if you put him on a big time team and that could have happened. -

Seriously? A Bad Oregon St team, Tennessee Tech, Baylor (no defense), SMU, Colorado St, BYU, Wyoming, Air Force, UNLV, Utah, San Diego St, New Mexico, Wisconsin. -

I don't know. I didn't think greatness when I saw him play. I'd say playmakers like Cam and Oregon's RB. Sorry for not tossing around the "Great" word like it's nothing.Automatik;860701 wrote:What would he have to do to be considered "great" in yours eyes? Heisman? National title?

Their schedule compared pretty similarly to Ohio State's last year. The difference between the two wasn't much.
I think you should have watched more Mtn West football last year. The conference is/was better than you think. -

I agree. OSU's schedule was not great either. I think people that are great against great teams are the only time to really see how good they are. Dalton scored a lot of points with me for beating Wisconsin. I really wasn't trying to bash him, I was just being honest. -

I'm not getting into this. I'm merely agreeing with Auto. -
rydawg5No one ever agrees with me.
