This is one of the tops. I know there are a couple of stadium proposals...but nothing has passed yet.
I also see Oakland as a possibility. -
Fab1bDon't count out Jacksonville. Not a Jags fan but as a resident of Jax I hope it doesn't happen. This city doesn't need another major hit to their economy.
-
se-alumIt's ridiculous that LA thinks they need a football team just because they are LA. Nobody will support it, and whatever team goes there, will be looking to get the hell out within 10 years.
-
I Am AhabIf LA was such a football city why have they had multiple teams abandon the city? I was really young when both the Rams n Raiders left so I dont remember their reasons for leaving but it just seems like if it could support football long term it wouldve worked out already. Maybe things have changed.

j_crazyStadium was a real need to get a team. Don't be shocked if Miami or stl move.

gorocks99The fans are crappy, but I do think LA is probably a better market than some give it credit for. The management of the two teams that were there wasn't exactly what I'd call stellar and the Coliseum is a dump in a crap part of town.
-
vball10setI'd like it to be Jacksonville, but I think it's going to be San Diego

mucalum49Rarely listen to sports radio but Colin Cowherd had a good point. LA isn't a bad football town. He rattled off a statistic of how many backers bars for other NFL teams are there. Its the same with any city largely made up of transients. Everyone I've met in Charlotte has their team they follow and then its "it'd be nice to see the Panthers do well".

Ironman92It's going to be the Chargers and as early as next year.

Y-Town SteelhoundChargers make the most sense. They barely have to move and their move wouldn't cause a division re-alignment. Moving the Clippers from SD to LA seemed to work out well. Though I could definitely see Jacksonville.

They are saying that it definitely won't be jacksonville because of their stadium lease. -

The ESPN LA guy spelled it out step by step on Mike and Mike....only negative outside of SD is they would play in the Coliseum for 3 years -
jordo212000It should be Jacksonville, but it sounds as if SD is really starting to gain traction as the team to go

Can't be much worse than Qualcomm can it? -

I dunno, the Coliseum IS in South Central. -

Definitely in a rough area. Pretty much thugs out there waiting across the street to bust a cap in your ass. -
MagtownManiacThe Rams were actually in Anaheim before they moved to St. Louis, and anyone who's from LA knows that Anaheim certainly isn't LA. They were promised some land to a build a new stadium, but it didn't happen quick enough for the owner and she bolted.
As for the Raiders, the Cryptkeeper has been their owner since 1970, which should be 'nuff said. Still, they played in the Coliseum and wanted some luxury boxes, etc., which wasn't happening fast enough. South Central is and will always be Raiders.
Which is probably what NFL teams are afraid of, because of all the transplants. Still, people will latch onto a team in their city, even if it's not their home team. Transplants don't get caught up in the whole USC-UCLA rivalry, so that argument is BS. An NFL team will make it in LA.
