Oh I agree. I think errors are way to lax. I would change the "unwritten rules" so that that play is an error. I just meant, the way stuff is scored these days, you cant give him an error.

GOATnis 5-5.....he is the true GOAT!

Well he's pitched a great game tonight in the biggest start of his season.

    Kipnis 5-5!

I agree with you. And the Tribe is certainly showing they have a bat when they need one. And I can't imagine how we would have hit if Kipnis were brought up earlier.

Masterson and Ubaldo both have the ability to K a guy when they need to. That's a great ability to have.

Ubaldo came up big tonight in a game where he had to.
  • Laley23
Ubaldo was awesome. Of course the offense was there, but still was great tonight. Would love a superhuman Fausto tomorrow. Just give us a chance in the 8th and 9th really.
  • hoops23
Ubaldo was filthy. Picked up the bullpen tonight as well. Just a huge performance.

Some GMs noted at the deadline: CLE offense could be very good by September, with Fukudome OBP, Kipnis, Chisenhall, Choo returning, etc.

Cool tweet...I would be more impressed if he'd said it two weeks ago though.

Just think where we'd be if the bullpen hadn't failed us on the road trip. Could have easily won all 7 games.

    This!

This is what we were all hoping he could do for us tonight....pitch deep into the game to give the bullpen the night off after pitching 12 innings. The bats came alive tonight and Goatnis is the real deal, wow what a job he has done in his young professional career.

Oh, and we picked up another game on Detroit in the process :D

    GO TRIBE

Are they chanting take it off?

Would be huge if the Tribe could embarrass Verlander tomorrow.

Didn't get to post during the game...but wow GOATnis. What a night for him. Ubaldo was filthy. Fun night and maybe we can get lucky tomorrow.

not true, at least for tonight

I agree. IMO, that was an error...100%. You'll have that with Santana until he becomes an everyday first baseman.

I think Acta is making a huge mistake not jettisoning Masterson in for Fausto tomorrow. Fausto's pitched better as of late...but these games count double against Detroit. Give yourself the best chance to win...this is not litttle league.

Yeah, he's kind of learning on the fly at 1B... Been a catcher his entire career... That said, he's already our best defensive 1B.

was he? from looking at his history he really didnt play one position(OF, 3B, 1B, 2B) more than any other until about 2008.

My one roommate is a scUM alumni and Detroit fan and the last two nights have been extremely satisfying. Let's hope for another big win Thursday night. Roll Tribe!

Ugh. There is honestly nothing I hate more in sports than comments like that, because it is always just as easy to make the same exact comments from the other side. The whole "well, we went 4-12, but 7 of those losses were by under a touchdown!"-type comments are absolutely absurd. You still sucked.

Like I said before the series though, 4 games ain't shit. Regardless of what happens tomorrow (today technically), the series was a success. 1 GB would be phenomenal, but even 3 is a head to head improvement.

Not holding my breath on Choo.

OK....the fact of the matter is, the bullpen blew 4 games out of 7. I don't care what the other team is saying.

I do agree 4 games is nothing at this point of the season.
