Can Jerod Head Play First Base?

  • Footwedge
People wanted the tribe to get a big stick. Well, Head has put up the numbers for 3 straight years. He can't be any worse defensively than LaPorta, can he?

Well....I guess nobody likes my idea...LOL

I don't know if he's ever played in the infield, but he has hit well for the last few seasons.

Beau Mills has been on a recent hot streak as well... He's finally made it to the AAA level..

At this point, I'd put Santana at first and look for a catcher..

I don't think Head is anything more than a 4A player.

I agree. Would like to pry away Ianetti from the Rocks.

Kinda off subject, but does anyone remember the other player that the Indians wanted instead of Laporta in that trade? I am thinking a SS.....

    Alcides Escobar.

They wanted al ides Escobar as well as Mat Gamel. Gamel hasn't done shit, and Escobar isn't as good as Asdrubal. We just traded with the wrong team lol, though they were regarded as by far the best organization at the time.

Head has played 1st base 22 times in 479 minor league games, most recently 4 games with Akron in 2009. I'm a bit surprised he hasn't been called up at all this year to play the outfield considering how well he's been hitting and all of the injuries that we've had.

Gamel put up good numbers at AAA last season (after coming back from some injury) and is crushing this year, but who knows if it will ever translate at the big league level.

Head isn't the best outfielder for the clippers. He has limited range so why not try him at first.

Yeah, he hasnt done anything at the MLB level. And, in all honesty....if he was still in AAA this many years after the CC Trade....

Well, I wouldnt want to even read the stuff that was said lol.
