Great play! How's wrigley? Always wanted to go see a game there. Maybe we'll get stationed in Illinois one day.

Nope. You arent playing Alonso for his defense though

It's pretty cool. Didn't get here very early and scalped tickets. Bleachers were going for more than we were wanting to pay so were just sitting in the regular seats but its a very fun atmosphere.

Renteria with a homer! I think that's his second of the year and I've seen both. Good to see some offense.

What are the chances BP gets another year with the Reds? Will they go ahead and keep him another couple years and then bring up Billy Hamilton or go ahead and bring him up to see what he has? All of these young guys (Cozart, Alonso, Frazier, and Sappelt) are looking impressive so far. All have the potential to be starting right now or be starters next year.

I think that guy who fell into the basket to retrieve the Renteria HR ball, threw a different ball back onto the field so he could keep the HR ball.

And then you have Mesoraco who will be the catcher in another year.

I think as long as Phillips keeps it reasonable, the Reds will bring him back. We need his bat

I think the chances are higher that BP gets another year than it is for Votto, and I think that's the right thing, but for Brandon to stay he'll have to sign a contract the is not as costly as one he could get elsewhere.

I think you're exactly right. As soon as he threw it back I thought it looked way too dark to be the home run ball.

He did. That's why Tom was saying it was a veteran move when he threw the other ball onto the field

Reds should have traded Hernandez to the Giants. The Giants gave up a decent minor leaguer for Cabrera's decaying corpse

The Reds lineup is much stronger when Stubbs is down closer to the middle of the lineup IMO

I didn't hear that, I'm listening mostly to the radio. After he got out of the basket, the guy next to him pointed to their feet and said there are the balls we brought. It looked like he kept the HR ball in his right hand, reached down and got a ball, and threw it back onto the field with his left arm.

Yeah they showed a replay and that's what it looked like

I still can't believe Pena got $10 mill this past offseason. Dude consistently hits below .230 every year

I like Stubbs better when he is in the middle of the lineup too. I think there may be a platoon with Alonso and Sapelt to finish the season. The next question is what to do with Heisey when he comes back? You will have Stubbs, Bruce, Heisey, Sappelt, Alonso and Lewis as the OF. Someone is either going to be dealt or sent back down.

That's why Jocketty should have been more active at the deadline. I think Sappelt wouldn't have been up here without Heisey's injury. If Sappelt keeps hitting then we might have an issue. But if he struggles he will probably be the casualty.

Rosters expand in about a month anyways, so it's probably a moot point

Correction: his third, and I've only seen 2. Not near as cool now.

Why are we considering bringing Masset in in a pressure situation? You'd think Dusty would have learned by now

Yes, I think Heisey will be on the DL until 9/1.
