    Reds record - dates
    5-0 - 4/6
    8-3 - 4/12
    25-17 - 5/17
    25-23 - 5/23
    30-30 - 6/5
    37-33 - 6/15
    47-50 - 7/19
    50-51 - 7/24
    54-59 - 8/6

I'd say the wheels have been loosening pretty badly since 5/17!

Since then you can say they've gone 12-16 then 17-26, or you can say they've gone 5-13, then 17-20, then 7-9. Anyway it hasn't been very good in the nearly 12 weeks since May 17th with their record since then being 29-42.

The first was DFAing Danny Ray so that Willis could come up. They then pitch Willis in AAA anyways and he gets hurt. The second was pinch running Heisey yesterday when they know they are going to DL him. Why not bring up Sappelt after the injury, he's much faster and now Heisey has to wait a couple extra days to come off the DL. These may look like minor things but at the highest level this should not happen.
I've never understood why the Reds always seem to wait too long to DL people. They did the same w/ Rolen. They knew Heisey couldn't throw or swing, and that's obviously not something that is OK w/ a few days rest.

    Just finished watching the recording.

Phillips was FORTUNATE not having either foot planted when Stubbs swiped him...he would've been done for the season...as is he'll probably have a good bruise just above the ankle and maybe a little woozy from the head hitting the ground. With Stubbs flying in it would've been pretty similar to the great Ozzie Smith play.

On that play to LF ( routinely)....Yonder took a step back and to the wrong direction...then ambles over then let the ball bounce by him....in my nearly 30 years of watching MLB baseball, never have I witnessed such an appalling outcome. It looked like my uncle Jeff trying to play LF for the Cincinnati Reds for a play.

I'm not sure I've ever witnessed such an impressive rookie with his plate appearances and be so embarrassing on defense.

Yonder's LF defense makes Paul Janish's offensive abilities resemble Babe Ruth.

And whoever is responsible for playing the OF and especially Drew Stubbs so deep should have to apologize to Phillips and the Reds fans.

The Reds now have the 11th best record in the National League....and if they were in the NL East...they would be in 6th place.

Agree, and I'm actually pretty stoked to see some of the young guys. Hopefully, Meso is the next to come up.
