Craptastic Tribe vs Red Sox: DO OR DIE TIME

  • wes_mantooth
This 7 game stretch could get very ugly and pretty much end the season....we will see.

I bet we go 2-5. Seasons over.

yeah, that is what i am thinking. They need 4-3...never happen.

Yep. We have to play a little over .500. Like 4-3 each week to make it. Unless we have another 7-9 game win streak in us (I HIGHLY doubt it) we cant lose much. Oh well, it wass a fun season while it lasted. With Ubaldo and Masterson anchoring the rotation next year, I will actually have a pleasantly optimistic offseason and hopefully we will upgrade the offense.

If those are the options, I'll take "die."
  • wes_mantooth
yeah, I have been disappointed a lot by the tribe....95 team was the best team by far and couldnt finish the job. The 97 team had it won and choked it away...as well as the 07 team. But if this organization doesn't make a splash in free agency....that will truly put my fandom to the test.

BRF checking in to see that Mantooth has stepped up to the plate and good luck!

This series will probably be the one where we go below .500. We made it to Aug. 1 one game over. Kinda amazing, yet we have blown SO many games.

Aug 1st and we were buyers, not sellers, in the players market. How can any of you Tribe fans be upset? Ill spare myself the time and assume no one predicted we would be in the pennant race in August?

Good point--how many times in the past several years have we been sellers (Lee, Sabathia, V. Martinez, etc.), and we fans were going ballistic...I'm not a big advocate of giving away this many prospects, but it shows me that management isn't mailing the season in...we'll see how it plays out, and then we can go ballistic

Cleveland fans already quitting nothing new. Really don't get how it seems like y'all are packing it up for the season.

We are like 1-7 (on a fucking Matt LaPorta walk off) since we swept the Twins in a DH. We have NO offense, and didnt upgrade. We won with smoke and mirrors to start the year. Our defense has to be in the bottom 5 since the first 45 games. I dont see how anyone can actually think they are going anywhere.
  • Laley23
Excuse me, 2-8. Our 2 wins are both walkoffs. LaPorta and Kipnis. Color me unimpressed with them for the better part of 2 months.

Now, I love that they are being aggressive and think Ubaldo drastically upgrade the staff. But the staff isnt what needed upgrading, and offense WAS NOT addressed. So I see nothing changing till the offseason.

Yes the Indians might be 2-8 in the last 10, but they still are only 2.5 back. Have to be happy about that.

Im very happy with the season so far. But you cant have actually watched this team for 2 months and think a pitcher is gonna help them. A big bat wouldve had me singing a different tune. but as of now, Im just pumped for Ubaldo and Masterson moving forward in the coming years, but not so much this season.
  • wes_mantooth
Yeah, the problem is that we show no signs of improvement...started hot, but def not a good team.

14-22 in day games. WTF is that all about? I would take a split in Boston and 1 of 3 in Texas and call it a success.

    As would I, which sucks.

When does Ubaldo pitch? Is he getting a full 10 days (essentially) between starts.

Don't you think all of the comebacks kind of cancel those out?

I was on record as early as late last season saying the Tribe would contend in the Central... I said it during the offseason/Spring Training as well..

It's frustrating, but damnit I'm enjoying the Tribe at least being there in striking distance... Also, we could be even better next season.

Acta said expect him sometime in the Texas series...

Also, Antonetti said they wouldn't have accepted the trade if Ubaldo didn't completely check out health wise.

Thats retarded. Why the fuck did we allow Colorado to pitch him? Would have been nice to get 2 starts out of him in these 7 games and not just 1.

Yeah, that's what I don't understand.. Colorado kept giving some BS that they weren't sure, yet they had a guy warming up behind him in the bullpen...

Acta said he didn't want to rush him in after pitching and all the travel he's done the last couple of days...

    Oh well..

i know the guidelines that have been hammered out but the indians should have responded by pitching pomeranz every third day until aug 15th...given colorado the same excuse they used on us - "oh, our bad. sorry about that. here's your pitcher"
