Classyposter58Big tournament goin on up in Toledo right now with NBC covering the weekend. Looks like heavy rains before the tourney is having the same effect it did in the regular open. Looks like super high ticket prices are driving the fans away though as no one is there basically compared to 2003, also none of the big 4 all time Are there

NO ONE is competing, plus thunderstorms in the AM and the threat all day kept people away. I wonder if they will show this weekend though.
But seriously, no one is here. Watson, Couples, Norman, etc. The best golfers are Mark O'Meara and Bernhard Langer. Still some talent, but no name recognition. -
SonofanumpWas up there yesterday afternoon pairings, no one was there. The biggest group following Pavin, Price and Lehman had maybe 30-40 people following.
Was able to stand at the ropes with plenty of room on any teebox, green or in any grandstand. Was hot, but able to find good shade. Was on ESPN a few times during the telecast. -

Yeah and then they think they can get away with charging $50 a day for a grounds pass and $135 for a weekly pass. That's a lot more than the Bridgestone Inv that has the best current playersLaley23;846011 wrote:NO ONE is competing, plus thunderstorms in the AM and the threat all day kept people away. Saw that as I walked pass with my free passes for the Jermain Pavilion. -
karen lotzWas there this afternoon. Crowd was really small as has already been stated. We followed Nick Price, Corey Pavin, and Tom Lehman around for a while then just sat in the grand stands and watched people finish up. I'd guess there were 30 people in the grand stands while we were there. I wouldn't have paid $20 to go, but the tickets were free.

TBone14If you couldn't find free tickets to this event, you weren't looking. I have opportunities to go everyday this week, just haven't felt like it. Probably will go on Sunday though.
-
Classyposter58Yeah I got a free book too which is why I'm probably going tomorrow. I don't like that it has been easy scoring though but I'll be there tomorrow. Definitely looking forward to a great field at Firestone next week

TimberInverness is hard... they are making it look real easy. As they say "These guys are good." Looked like real light winds today... Soft greens and light wind, and medium speed greens add up to these guys lighting it up.

These guys are also old lol. And still I understand that conditions have been more favorable to scoring but come on -15 under thru 3 rounds in a USGA event? That's pitiful it's playing still this easy -

Yeah that would never happen on the Regular tour in an event like the 2011 US Open.Classyposter58;847083 wrote:These guys are also old lol.
