Announced on MLB Network, per twitter.

If Leake is traded I'll pretty much be done with this season.

Why would they trade a second-year player who's been a quality (if not exceptional) starter and is locked up for some time? That doesn't make sense, unless Dusty wants a few more vets to gear up for a big August.

I cant think of any other reason they would scratch him already.

Yep, it makes no sense. Leake is our 2nd best starter. Unless he's being traded to land Jimenez.

From looking at MLB Trade Rumors, there was this combo of bullet points under the daily Hunter Pence drama:
The Astros want pitching for Pence, according to Heyman (on Twitter).

The Reds are in on Pence, but he's the Phillies' to lose, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports (on Twitter).
So, they might be looking at Leake as a potential part of a deal to get Pence.

I hate Dusty as our manager....it really bothers me.

I truly believe we could have Halladay, Jiminez, Leake, Cueto and Bailey as our starters.....bullpen the same with a top notch closer and Votto, Phillips, Reyes, Arod as the IF, McCann as our catcher and the OF of your choice and we would not win it all. I believe this 100%.

I agree. The man drives me nuts. He looked like a genius last year but it's back to Dinglebaker Ball this year.

I never saw the genius. 2010 was the Year of WDD

I'll reserve my opinion until I see what they could get for Leake.

If they trade Leake for some guy that never gets past A ball.....but also includes Dusty Baker in the trade......I'm for it.

That would be the 2nd time Leake would be involved in a steal.

It seems like he pushed a lot of the 'right buttons' last year at the right times. Especially when it came to some of the substitutions and bullpen match-ups he made.

Quick example...when he put a just called up Heisey in LF for Gomes vs the Cardinals in Cincinnati. And Heisey retrieved a double in the corner beautifully that led to a great relay and throw out at the plate to end the game. Those are moves all managers will make, but it just seemed like last year they all paid off for Dusty over and over again and made him look like a genius.

Even some of the line up changes he made last year showed Dusty had an idea. Like when he dropped a struggling Stubbs to the bottom of the order which got him going again.
