iclfan2Terrific at bat by Buck. 12 pitches I think they said. Nice double to left to tie it in the bottom of the 9th. On to the 10th!
-
JerseyBuckGreat at bay by Buck to take the game to extra innings!
-
Laley23SMH at a closer in a non save again. When will managers learn? Even the CLOSERS admit they dont get amped up for it. So dumb.
-
JerseyBuckWhy continue to pitch to him?
-
wes_mantoothugh, why pitch to their only threat....
-
iclfan2Hey Manny, it is a non save situation what the hell are you thinking? Oh thats right, you were thinking Pure Rage sucks when it isn't a save situation so you put him in and Batista promptly hits it out of the park.
-
TBone14Fuck man. Can we come back again? Doubtful.
Bautista is such a freak though. Really wasn't a bad pitch. He went and got and basically said I am better than you. -
Laley23I bet Kearns comes up in Pronks spot...to tie/win the game. Cause you know, Pronk wouldnt have scored last inning....smh.
IF you are going to pinch run for Pronk...do it with a guy with some speed! -
wes_mantoothThat loss is on Acta, very, very poor decisions.
-
wes_mantoothalso, if it wasn't for a miracle finish the other day, this series would be a complete disaster.

Just like this team. Losers. -

I don't understand how you came blame the manager for the best bullpen pitcher not getting guys out. He has a job to do and he's a professional. Sure its not a save situation, but he can go get himself a win. I don't get why the closer has this built in excuse for not performing in non save situations. The loss is on Perez. -
iclfan2Thank goodness Detroit is also losing. Someone on twitter said that of the 8 earned runs Perez has given up, 4 are in non save situations. DON'T PUT THE FREAKING CLOSER IN UNLESS YOU'RE WINNING!!

Sure, and Rage is not off the hook. But what did you or anyone else expect? I know I expected he would give up a run. Perez NEEDS to do his job, and he has no excuses for failing to do so...but at the same time, as a manager you have to know when the best time to use players are. Perez in tie games is a bad idea. You cant keep doing it expecting a different result. -

You simply don't pitch to the hottest hitter in baseball...that is the managers call. -

See I didnt mind that. I dont pitch to him in 99/100 situations. But you cant just put the winning run on base as the leadoff batter.
My issue is still with pinch running for Pronk with Kearns lol. What was Kearns gonna do that Pronk wasnt, other than K to end the game had we gotten a runner on in the 10th? -

I just dont think you can right after him....especially with a meatball down the middle. I didnt like the Pronk sub either and I didnt like using Perez in a non save situation. I am another person that doesnt like using the closer in a nonsave situation....unless you are just trying to get him some work or you are in extra innings and have run out of relievers. -
dazedconfusedthis one's on you, acta. just dumb decisions all around

From the HillsWas poor decisions by Acta. Why not let Masterson pitch another inning?
-

This was my biggest bitch. -
september63Whether it was Perez or Masterson wasnt my problem. Giving Bautista anything to hit was my problem.
-
royal_kCC on the mound today. He was lights out for the month of june. Hopefully he pitches like this. His last start wasn't so good.

How do you know Acta didn't tell him to pitch around him and Perez just fucked up?
No Asdrubal in the lineup today. -
dazedconfusedFrom the Hills;826068 wrote:Was poor decisions by Acta. Why not let Masterson pitch another inning?
yea, i would have stuck with masterson. he was already in the game and it's not like he was especially taxed in the 9th inning - pretty much mowed them down in fact. i would have preferred our best pitcher going up against their 3-4-5 than perez in a situation that he wasn't comfortable with.
it's to the point that if it's tied in the 9th or we are extra innings at home, perez should be the last man in the bullpen. everyone else is a better option than perez in a non-save situation
