MLB HR Derby Thread

Ironman92Who would you choose as your 4 to win it.....and who would you choose just because you wanted to see them do it.
I would choose: AL Ortiz, Hamliton, Jose Bautista and Miguel Cabrera
NL Kemp, Tulo, McCann and Fielder
Want to see: AL Ichiro, Dunn, Mitch Moreland, Nelson Cruz
NL Wily Mo, Mike Stanton, Carlos Pena, Carlos Gonzalez
I think Wily Mo would put on a show no one would ever forget. -
karen lotzMcCann isn't a HR hitter. I'd rather see a true All Star in it as well. Someone like Placido Polanco.
-
daveNL: Prince, Howard, Wily Mo, Kemp
AL: Bautista, Hamilton, Dunn, ARod -
karen lotzI'd like to see Ichiro in it. Everyone who watches BP raves about his first round of swings and says he hits some absolute bombs.

Gardens35Off topic here, but for those that don't know:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Home_Run_Derby_%28TV_series%29
Hank Aaron, Rocky Colavito, Mickey Mantle, Frank Robinson, Eddie Mathews.....from time to time on ESPN Classic.
End of Rant. -
wildcats20All they need to do is have the Reds pitchers throw and there would be record numbers put up.

Those are just timeless...don't even seem real. Solid footage! -

Just for a sideshow event I'd like to see Aroldis Chapman cranking fastballs down the middle and let Wily Mo hack at them as hard as he can until he gets one elevated just to see how far a ball can be hit. -
TigerNation10Official lineup:
Ortiz, Bautista, Cano, A. Gonzalez
Fielder, Weeks, Holliday, Kemp -
se-alum
Those lineups don't interest me in the least.TigerNation10;822455 wrote:Official lineup:

Laley23Who Id choose:
AL: Miguel Cabrera, Bautista, Hamilton, Reynolds
NL: Prince, Kemp, Howard, Pena
Who Id like:
AL: Ichiro, Granderson, Lind, Bautista
NL: CarGo, Michael Morse (cause he is a mammoth of a human), Justin Upton (Home Park, and he hits some BOMBS when he connects), Willy Mo (because he is twice the man Morse is) -
karen lotzLooks good Laley although I might sub in Mike Stanton for CarGo.

Good call actually. Maybe Freeman for Upton also, just so we could have 30 feet and 2 ton of humans. -
wildcats20Where did I see the other day that Brucey would be on the NL squad? I swear I saw it....

Cincinnati.com had an article where Bruce said he would do it if asked, maybe that's what you saw? -

baseballstud24If it doesn't have Hamilton in it, I'm not interested.

Thank you for caring! -
Ironman92In the real derby....I'm taking the AL
Cano will shine. -
daveAm I reading that right, 3 lefties for the AL and 3 righties for NL? Anyone know where it's easier to hit it out in AZ?
-

TBone14Heard a guy from Yahoo sports on Rome the other day. His idea is to let the guys uses college bats. Would allow for some absolute bombs. I would watch that. Won't watch this.
