  The last two are fine, but there is no way you can include Carson in this debate. Just because he wasn't Marino or Elway doesn't mean he didn't produce. He took the Bengals to 2 division titles in a 5 year span when they hadn't won one in 15 years. Carson doesn't belong here at all.

  I would like to add Jamir Miller, Travis Wilson, Andy Marte, Luke Jackson, and Larry "Hey stop taking so many bad shots" Hughes! Wow, how was he not mentioned yet? SMH, supposed to be LBJ's "Robin" (lolz oh the irony). His brother/step brother died and he missed most of the playoffs in the Cavs post season run to the Finals then disappeared against the Spurs. Christ he sucked.

  Jets did the stelers a favor by offering ODonnel 25 mill for 5 years I think was teh deal.....steelers thought it was too much and let him go

  another in a line of first rounders that have not held up to their billing as a franchise QB.
  (the Bengals extremely limited "success", and I use the term loosely, probably has has much to do with a sturdy ground game and the improvement in defense)...
  unfortunately injured on the first play in the first round of the playoffs in '05-'06, and a non-factor in the only other playoff appearance...
  then follows his "storied" career with his quote about never playing football in PBS again, and having enough money to retire rather than taking another snap for the Bengals.

  I loved the Steelers on Tecmo Super Bowl just because their defense was so awesome. Back in the day, when I was all geeked out over that game, I kept stats for my seasons with each team and all my team defensive records were the Steelers. Including one where I gave up barely over a 5 points per game average.
  
  Offense was a different story. The ONLY skill player who was above average for his position was TE Eric Green. With the running backs, it was basically "hope someone's in good/excellent condition and use him". Lipps was a tolerable receiver, but that was it...and Brister had no accuracy. Fortunately, they (as well as the Saints) were graded to be the best at kick returns, so field position tended to be pretty good.

  I think the year that Miami beat them and lost to SF in the Super Bowl (84-85, I think). They were the only team to beat SF in the regular season. Won the Central with a 9-7 record.

  Malone did finish top 10 in his career in yards for the steelers...but most fans will remember him for being a turd.
  
  STeeler caught fire that year he lead them to the AFC championship game. I vaguely remember...I thought Merrill Hoge was big in that run, but the 80s wasnt the greatest for the steelers.
  
  but then again....steelers franchise had the good 70s and not many great QB before that.

  Yeah.....he may have been a turd......but I remember them replacing Bradshaw with Cliff Stoudt.....then Malone and then the Bubster. Malone is not the turd of those 3 80's flashbacks. That and he looks insanely like Tom Selleck.

  No, when Malone was there, Walter Abercrombie was the back. Hoge was big during the good year with Brister. It was Cleveland's final AFC Championship appearance. Hoge basically carried the team to a win over Houston (I think) in the wild card game and then almost carried them past Denver in the second round.
