Good point. Especially with the birth certificate being Hawaiian. As far as I'm concerned Hawaii and Alaska are non-USA America, considering they're not directly connected to the main USA. Even though neither "state" has a MLS team, which might make them more USA America than the cities with MLS teams. This is a tricky deal...

Well, clearly, USA Americans don't care. But who will stand up for the Non-USA Americans?

This coming from someone who did cross country?

You don't even need a pair of shoes and they let you compete....even if you can't really run. No one gets cut, everyone gets to 'run'.

Sounds like the ultimate rec sport.

USA Americans...hmmm, you've coined a phrase now. I can't quit thinking about it.

Seriously, though, you need to spend some time in Brazil and see how much futbol means to them. It really is a passion. It's the same in Mexico.

To me, it's like hockey without the excitement. But what do I know, I'm just a USA American.

I agree. I was honestly pretty entertained by the Portland Timbers - Seattle Sounders matches. Great atmosphere, rivals, and some good games between the two.

It's like that with a few other match ups as well. Columbus vs Toronto was pretty heated there for a while as well..

Dead serious - count on it. And the sad thing is you both know you are "USA Americans"...not Latino American, not African American, not Asian American etc, etc, but you can't be satisfied with that. Instead you have to be some kind of poseurs living on your "Upper East Side" snobbery that pretend to like soccer so you feel better about yourselves fitting in with the melting pot while at the same time trying to make me out to be a redneck racist. The comment still stands that the vast vast majority of "USA Americans" don't give a flying fuck who even played (let alone won!) that game last Sat. in L.A.
