Reds vs Yankees--Game 2

thavoiceNot sure Edgar is a guy you send down to AAA to get his swing back. He is a guy you try and trade for whatever or DFA.
I92---I agree. I think Votto is a legit 320-340 hitter. His ribeye steaks will depend alot on who is in front and behind him because Votto is a very, very clutch hitter unlike many other guys. Last year will be his best season of his career, and there really isnt anything wrong with that. It was an amazing season but I just dont think we will see him hit 30+ and 100+ on a routine basis....but then aagin......not many players do. He will be a very solid guy in the middle of the lineup for a long time. Unsure if he will put up MVP numbers again tho -
Ironman92HIs amount of walks will not go down and he's getting better at putting it into play.....his OPS will always be solid I bet and he could have a 33 HR, 30 2B, 120 RBI season batting .327......put that on a team that makes the playoffs and you have an MVP candidate

wildcats20Obviously I am being a little overdramatic/sarcastic.
But in no way shape or form should Edgar Renteria be hitting in a situation like last night. Not this year. -
Ironman92Dusty has not been the besty at putting PHers in there.....Saturday when we were down there he had used everyone but Gomes (Hanigan doesn't count per Dusty stupid reasoning)by the 8th inning.....had we gone to extras we had nothing.
This is also the guy who sits a player who just went 3-5 or a player that is 7/15 off of a pitcher -

Not a fan of Edgar diarrehea but he was 3-9 against Mariano in his career and you know how managers love to look at those numbers.wildcats20;808908 wrote:Obviously I am being a little overdramatic/sarcastic.

Ironman92^^^they say that but sometimes I wonder if Dusty ever looks at numbers...or stupid things overrule the numbers

And Gomes was 2/6. Same average. -

True, in a little smaller sample size. They did mention it during the FSO telecast (didnt waste my time listenin to ESPNs crew) and they mentioned how Gomex is a hacker, a HR guy, and Rivera doesnt give up HR's as to why maybe he chose E-R over Gomes.
I am not backing Baker..I am just throwing up possible reasons why he put in him over Gomes. I could easily see Rivera throw that cutter way away from Gomes and have him whiff -
davepretty sure Hernandez is a .300 hitter off Mo also in a decent sample size.
Weather is terrible here, highways are a mess. If this game starts on time the stadium will be 25% full, there are 1 hr delays to get across the river both ways. -
wildcats20Game tonight is postponed til tomorrow night. Will be the 2nd half of a day/night doube dip.
-
SportsAndLadyTT, I was sort of kidding around with the OSU comments
-
jordo212000Bummer. Was looking forward to watching the game tonight
-
daveThis blows with no game on. Not sure what it's like at the stadium but I'm 20miles north and since 6pm no rain, its been windy but the sun has actually been peaking out most of the time.
Just had a text convo with a friend in Louisville who knows some people within the organization. He said Homer looks decent tonight, Cozart and Sappelt led off the bottom of first with back to back doubles. Also said LeCure isn't there, already in Cincy and will be activated tomorrow between games. -

Who do you suppose LeCure will replace on the 25 man? -
daveHorst or Fisher for sure, although I'd prefer Arrendondo so he can learn how not to walk the leadoff batter every time. If Chapman pitches well tonight I think he'll be back Friday. If I had to guess I'd say Horst goes down tomorrow and Fisher Friday. If Fisher pitches a couple innings tomorrow afternoon he'd probably go first. Lets hope that doesn't happen because it would mean a loss.

Indiana Univ. takes pictures of their home games with Ohio State and uses it in their football programs and puts the pics up on their websites, facility walls, etc. because of so many OSU fans who go to their games..wearing almost the same color as IU red.
That is ONLY during years when Purdue game is on the road. Otherwise, they use the Purdue home game, cause it sells out as well, lol -

I'm guessing it will be Horst. I'm no Fisher fan, but Dusty seems to trust him more. I suspect either Bailey or Chapman will replace FisherHorst or Fisher for sure, although I'd prefer Arrendondo so he can learn how not to walk the leadoff batter every time. daveI sure hope either Wood or Volquez goes down when Homer comes back, going to the pen will not help them. Just look what happened to Leake.
Wouldn't surprise me though with all the poor decisions that have been made so far. -
jordo212000I think at this point Wood is more likely to go down than Volquez. Wood recovered nicely last night from a tough first inning, but he has been pretty inconsistent thus far
-
daveI agree. Personally I hope DTrain gets a shot, some think he's got nothing left but I don't see why they have him around if they don't plan on giving him a chance. Too many average pitchers.
-
daveAnyone going tomorrow? might head down and scalp, not sure which game though.
-
Ironman92I considered going down for the early game.
-
wildcats20Buddy of mine had an extra ticket from his boss for tomorrow, but of course I have to work.
-
daveHomer with a much better game tonight, he'll be back next week. Chapman with a perfect inning on 13 pitches. He'll be back Friday.
edit: Homer would pitch Sunday maybe -
ernest_t_bassHow do they work that out tomorrow, having two games? Double header, or clear stadium?
