Ironman92One of the founding forfathers of this website is in danger of letting us all down. The one and the only.....the great Adam Dunn is currently the worst player in baseball. He is hitting .176 for the season with a .309% slugging.
Sadly our chosen one got off to a quick start in the first series of the year....but then missed nearly a week with surgery. Of late he is atrocious. He is 7 for his last 71 and has 53 strikeouts in his last 97 AB! In his last 72 AB he only has 2 extra base hits! In his past 27 starts he has 2+ K in 15 of them! For the whole season he has just 5 HR and has a whopping 80 strikeouts.
I don't know how much longer this ineptness can go on.....I fear if he doesn't break out of this soon......Reggie Jackson's all-time record will remain. Dunn is still about 5 seasons away from catching him....what once looked to be a definate....is now looking very dire.
Prayers -
thavoiceI have faith he can do it. ChiSox may dump him but he will be able to catch on with some shitty team and keep hitting HR.
They used to say this about Shoeless Joe Jackson.....'his glove is where doubles go to die'.
With Dunn.........he could play a flyout into a triple any day of the week!
Any truth that The Windy City average wind speed has increased a few MPH since Dunn game to town -

HereticCurrently Brandon Wood (worst hitter in modern times and, therefore, a member of the Pirates) is laughing at Adam Dunn with his .211/.310 split so far this year.

And Carlos Santana (Tribe) is chortling like an Englishman at these notions. He's the new heir to the throne....the toilet bowl "throne." -
Commander of AwesomeI just read that Dunn strikes out every 2.4 plate appearance. lol
-
thavoiceWe have the Mendoza Line named after the former player.
We need a name of a stat of futility for Dunn.
Suggestions? -
karen lotzDan UGGLA is giving Dunn a run for his money.

Ironman92Sad as it is the strikeout every 2.4 at bats isn't the big problem...the big problem is that he used to be labeled as a guy who will either walk, K or HR....but right now he is only walk, K or another out.
