The wagon wheels just came off

Three earned runs it costs the Reds.

Lewis for whatever reason was playing very deep AND took at least 1 step back. He's surprisingly awkward out there.

78 pitches for Wood thru only 3 innings. May as well warm up Reineke to pitch next since Volquez is to take his scheduled start away and the bullpen was used a lot yesterday.

I've heard that for as quick as he is, he doesnt cover a lot of ground

He's been lucky out there a couple of times lately with poor communication with the CF and INF and was able to make last second stabs and basket catches that could have easily been drops for errors.

Meaning that he doesn't have a good feel for where the ball is going the instant it comes off the bat - not a good trait for an outfielder!

Just showed the shambles of the bullpen which cannot be attributed to Dusty....but that is why you stay with Cueto yesterday Unless Cueto said he was gassed....because in the grand scheme of things you need that solid bullpen...and Cueto was doing great and Cordero could've been the only other guy used...but now we have tomorrow's scheduled starter in the bullpen and we are getting killed and we blew a huge lead yesterday.

Stubbs with a bunt single and then a steal. Cool, but we are down 4 runs. Kind of silly to risk a baserunner there
  • mhs95_06
Although the wrong call was made, isn't that two hits Stubbs has gotten credit for in his only two bunt attempts for the year?
  • mhs95_06
Can Votto get the run in from 3rd this time with one out?

Due to his failure before a Lewis' failure in the field, now that one doesn't get close to a tie.

The more I see Stubbs, the more I think he is the fastest white guy I have ever seen.

Right now it's him or that Konstantine Koustopulis dude that won the 200 meter in the 96 olympics.
  • Ironman92
And now tomorrow's starter is pitching in today's 5th inning down 4 runs.
  • jordo212000
Reineke? Ughh. I would rather leave Wood out there. Reineke sucks
  • Ironman92
Jamie Carroll on base 7 times in the past 23 hours
  • SportsAndLady
I honestly think the Reds could play JUST Billingsley and Kemp, and they would lose somehow.
  • Ironman92
Dusty is taking a problem and making it worse....and losing while he's doing it.

Bringing in the next day's starter in the 5th inning of a 4 run deficit THEN use him for only 2 batters? Who the he'll is he thinking is going to finish out this game? I'm guessing the bullpen.

Shit then he brings up Gomes to try to score a few runs and then Thom sees that Gomes is 5 for 7 off of Billingsley and wonders why the heck he wasn't starting??? Well Thom Lewis has been awesomely horrible in the OF and Gomes drills Billingsley more often than any other Reds player.

Dusty is in the midst of one of his dubious stretches of ass backwards managing.....all while the Reds are losing.
  • Ironman92
No S&L...they need future HOF Jamey Carroll getting on base ad naseum.
  • Ironman92
When bringing in Reinicke in the 5th knowing the pitching spot was coming up soon why didn't he double switch or hell have Wood tough it out to the end of the inning....or even bringing in Janish to get the two outs.
  • Ironman92
Jamey Carroll with another time on base.
  • mhs95_06
2nd time in two days the pitcher doesn't make it to first to give a shot to convert a 4-6-1 DP.
  • Ironman92
Dusty bringing in another pitcher in the 7th.

I hope we can get Carlos Fisher into the game somehow.
  • Ironman92
All while the Dodgers pitcher beat the Reds player to the bag by so much he let up in defeat.

Yes, he takes out Wood with Carroll up, a guy who he had faced 3 times already and hadn't given up a hit to, and he didn't want to double switch Bruce, Votto, or BP out so he could get another inning our of Reineke, so he just as soon leave Wood in rather than pitch a starter for one out and then pinch hit for him!
