DH.............Simple Question. Yes or No.

  • HitsRus
good for Cliff....but you'll have a hard time convincing me that that people in that stadium paid to see him and his .490 OPS and .208 BA. Hamels is actually the best hitting Phillie pitcher @ .250.

Face it...pitchers are negatives when it comes to the offensive side of the game. They add nothing. It becomes a contest of whether your pitcher is less a drag then the other pitcher. I would think that all of the guys hung up on the DH would be Tea Party-ers and Constitutionalists...can't violate the sanctity of the Constitution, can't violate the sanctity of the original rules of a game.

Grienke hit a HR yesterday and had 10 Ks, surprised he was able to climb the mound after trotting around the bases.

Wilson Valdez laughs at pitchers who don't have time to work on hitting.

Now that is a powerful argument right there(sarcasm) citing the exception. Yeah, on any given nite a pitcher could hit the ball.

In fact, the top 50 pitchers by At Bat...do manage to get a hit once every 10 times! ....and so far they have driven in 57 runs in total in all games.

If you get a hit 3 times out of 10 at bats and have a lengthy career, you are a HOFer.

Just checking a little further...ALL pitchers in ALL games have a total of 84 RBI.

...and hitting .200...the Mendoza line...is the standard of offensive futility.
    Pitchers are hitting half that.

    Zambrano had 3 hits yesterday.

Zambrano may the best hitting pitcher in the majors...and of course, if he is such a good hitter, there is no rule that says you HAVE to DH for him....

There are other pitchers who have been to the plate 20+ times and haven't sniffed a hit. God knows how many sacrifices were made too that don't even affect the .100 BA's. Don't get me wrong... baseball is great game either way. I just prefer and find it more exciting to see great pitching matched against great hitting.
