NBA Eastern Conference Final: Chicago Bulls vs Miami Heat
-
robj55more so had to do with it being the 4th quarter and a huge play
-
Hb31187The Heat need to call TO, their closer is on the bench. Silly Spoelstra
-
Ironman92I'm not great at mathematics or statistical analysis...but the odds of the Bulls sweeping this series has to be taking a hit.
-
The BossI've been trying to tell you guys who the best defensive team in the league is and everyone wanted to say the Bulls. But that's because they don't play against the Heat's offense every night.
-
jordo212000Wait. The Heat couldn't have won game 3? The Bulls dominated them in the regular season!! Haha

I dont think Anthony deserves alot of credit. The guy is an average at best defender, he brings nothing to the table at the offensive end and he doesnt hit the glass
I didn't watch any of the game tonight, but you must not have watched any game that Anthony has played in his career. He is undersized as a center and extremely limited on offense. Pretty much all he has is his defense and his hustle after loose balls. That is the reason the Miami crowd chants MVP for him. Its not because he is great, its because his effort is great. It is very odd that nothing negative was said about LeBron or Bosh during this game, but some people are attacking Joel Freaking Anthony.

AutomatikJoel Anthony aka the Garbage Man

Exactly, its not like anyone not named SQ is saying he is anything other than a garbage man. He isn't great, but he also isn't worthless, especially on this Heat team. -
AutomatikHe scrappy on defense. A few times tonight I saw him make a stop and his name was called.....I was like "wtf, Joel Anthony the 'stud'" lol
-
jpake1A close game for the majority, but never really in question. LeBron played a great game. Taj might regret talking shit to Bosh, at least for one game. Wade looked old the first half, but bounced back. He still looks sluggish, kinda odd. Anthony set the defensive tone early. Haslem bounced back well. They will definitely need him. Boozer finally looked like he earned a paycheck. A wasted performance, much like Bosh in game one. Noah has been mia for 6 quarters now. Rose is still struggling, which is not surprising by any means. Him playing frustrated is surprising though. This next one will be very tough for Miami. They can't afford any lapses.

hoops232 games away from netting $50 each from two of my Bulls friends lol

Did you have to lay any odds on that or was it straight up? -

Straight up.
They obviously took Chicago and I took Miami. Whoever wins the series, wins the bet.
They were so adamant that Chicago was soooo good during the regular season and put A LOT of stock into their regular season sweep over the Heat. I told them a ton of times that regular season was irrelevant when it comes to postseason and gave them many examples..
When Miami lost game 1, I got a few texts from them "I thought regular season was meaningless" etc...
I know how the NBA works. I'm over LeBron and don't even mind the Heat now, so I had no problem betting on them. -
AutomatikI've got a bet with a friend.....a 4th of July weekend bar tab riding on the Heat. I haven't heard from him lately.

Ha, ironic, I haven't heard from them recently either.. -

Exactly. Thats all I was trying to say. SQ was getting bent out of shape when I made a comment that Joel Anthony is an average at best NBA player. Am I wrong? I didnt attack the guy. -
jordo212000Anthony is the definition of an average player.
-
Skyhook79Nobody would care less about Joel Anthony if it were not for sq_crazies and his ridiculous statements about him.
-
The BossLOL my ridiculous statements. I called him a fucking role player. And a great one, and guess what, that's exactly what he is. And guess what, they're going to keep winning and he's going to continue to be a reason why and you fucks are just going to have to deal with hearing about it.
Like jpake said, Noah has been MIA for awhile now, why do you think that is? He's supposed to be a key to this series for the Bulls--and the same group that thinks Anthony isn't any good thinks Bosh is a softy, so it can't be Bosh. Some of you have worse basketball minds than I gave you credit for in the past, which is saying A LOT. Not my fault that you can't recognize a good player unless he puts up 30 points in a game because ESPN has a 15 inch dick balls deep in your mouth. -

Then why dwell on it? Time to move on. -

That's not what you said though, you said he's an average DEFENDER at best who DOESN'T hit the glass, exactly what you said. -
AutomatikI'm guessing this is the longest discussion about Joel fucking Anthony in the history of the internetz!!!!

I stand by that statement
Joel Anthony is an average NBA defender
Hes averaging 3.3 rebounds a game throughout his career. If you want me to say he hits the glass I will, he just doesnt do a very good job of it. -
jpake1Even the Miami boards I visit don't talk about about Anthony this much lol. But hey, I'll give my two cents on the topic. I've seen plenty of Anthony the past couple years. During free agency I said the Heat were good enough with him at the C position for this year. I said that because of the good things he had done the previous year-- good screener, good pick and roll defense, very good shot blocker for his size, great rotational defender. That's all a team with 3 very good players needs IMO from the C position. However, he started off VERY slow this year. In all honesty, he played quite poorly most of the year. There were times when I wanted him off the court because he just wasn't doing the things that warranted his contract extension. He's picked it up during the playoffs and is now playing at the level that the organization expects him to. He's not a stud, nor is he a waste. He's a successful part of the Miami Heat, and that's surely enough for me.
